We have stayed at the Fino a number of times. We love the location. You can walk to many bars and restaurants and it is directly across the road from the Christchurch Town Hall. The rooms are large with a good kitchen, laundry and balcony. The staff are always lovely and friendly. Car parking is a bonus too.

Booking was for 2 bedroom unit with separate bathrooms. The hotel was straight out of Singapore with faux neo classical themed architecture from the 80s which generally means an older style hotel design. Our lift opened into an open atrium and then into a short dark hallway to our unit. Large Lounge with LCD TV, Dining table and full size Kitchen including a tall fridge, washing machine but no dishwasher. A small balcony and heatpump provides a comfortable stay however acoustic between units was not good. The Kitchen had a floor drain where you could hear the people below plus quite a lot of noise coming thru from the above unit as well. Bathrooms were old with towel racks located above the toilet! Not hygienic. The Ensuite was even worse. Designed for disabled compliance, the shower was basically the whole floor with just a curtain to contain the water which didnt work at all and virtually wet the whole floor. The trick was to turn the shower on at half flow. The toilet lid would not stay up and so sit down use was the only option. There was only 1 shelf about 4 inches wide which was just enough room for a toothbrush and shaver along with all the hotel toiletries and towels. No vanity drawers or cupboards so everything was on the floor. No towel rails or heaters & it was seriously cold in mid July and quite an unpleasant experience if you needed to use the toilet at 3am. No TV in bedrooms or heat pump but the bed did have electric blankets. The restaurant was not opened (renovations?) but there were plenty of eateries down the road near the casino. In our view the hotel is on the downhill slide of outdatedness and needs a serious upgrade especially the bathrooms.

Booked through hotels.com and had to pay for parking. Room size was great with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom in between. Full kitchen and good sized lounge. Balcony. Great location with lots of restaurants nearby and casino across the road. Only downfall was that one of the bedrooms was facing in to the middle of the building & as we were close to the lifts it was quite noisy.

Lovely friendly staff, spacious 2 bedroom apt. CHC is still recovering the earthquake 10 years ago, although on city fringe this property is not in the most inspiring location. Great if you have a car with inexpensive underground parking.

Fino Hotel and Suites is one of the best located hotels in the city, right in the middle within walking distance of new shopping areas, the city centre, trams etc We chose this hotel due to the proximity to the starting line of the Christchurch marathons and it did not disappoint in that regard, literally 30 seconds out the door and we were at the starting line. If you are in town for that reason I highly recommend this location. The rooms themselves are quite comfortable, coming off an impressive atrium with views right down the middle. The furniture was all in good condition and laid out well. All the amenities you would expect. There were only two downsides to our stay. The first is the noise, there are only single glazed windows so the city noise travels in the windows like they aren't even there. The second was the incredibly dated bathroom. The shower had next to no water pressure which was a huge disappointment after running a marathon, sometimes you just need a good shower. I definitely recommend this location to families and people who want to stay in the heart of the city within walking distance of all that has to offer.

I've stayed at this hotel previously and was happy but after this last trip will not be back and wouldn't recommend. Good points are spacious rooms, fairly clean, cheap on-site parking, comfy beds and friendly staff. Bad points are old furniture in living area and the worst thing that ruined our trip was the noise. Across the road is a bar on the corner open until 3am. It is so loud it sounds like it's next door. Knowing we had young kids in our party we were still placed in a corner room nearest the bar it was horrendous.

Disappointing experience with this hotel. I booked 3 months ago what I could only assume was a pet friendly room for my dog and myself on Agoda. The hotel is listed on various online booking sites, on their website and on social media as being pet friendly. I was informed 3 days prior to my stay when I manually confirmed my booking that they had no pet friendly rooms available and as I had not selected a pet friendly room they could not help me. As it turns out the pet friendly rooms only show up on the booking sites if there is one available for the dates selected, but its not clear anywhere that you are not booking a pet friendly room so I though nothing of it. When I phoned to speak to someone to ask what could be done about this, their offer was to cancel the booking for me. Hardly a solution to the problem from my point of view. I understand that not every room can be pet friendly, not everyone loves pets, so I offered to pay a bond and cleaning fee, but still the reply was we can not accommodate your pet. I have stayed at the hotel in the past and the location and the rooms are great, just a pity about the bad communication.

We stayed for two night in a spacious unit that was the size of a small flat. It comes with a fully equipped kitchen. The hotel is situated in close proximity to the Casino. It is on the northern edge of the central business district. It is a 12 minute walk to the riverside restaurant precinct and the major retail area. For this visit to we had to walk to find breakfast. We could taken the opportunity to reduce cost by visiting one of the local supermarkets. It had the added bonus of on-site secure parking.

Stayed here twice within 2 days of each other. Large spacious, clean rooms with great kitchen. Our first night we were in a standard suite and the next we were upgraded which was nice. Funnily enough we did find the standard room nicer with better view but upgrade had an ensuite each which was nice. Some small cosmetic work needed but all in all we would come back to this hotel. It was so close to everything in city centre. Super friendly staff here. Be great if you were staying for a few days.

We could not fault our standard suite, can only image what the superior/corporate suites are like. We are well traveled and used to holiday apartments, and really could not fault anything. Spotlessly clean, and in this COVID world - I am picky. All staff encountered very professional. Own numbered ar park st $5 a night secured was a bargain. Excellent location
