The rooms are superbly clean with a lovely bathroom and small kitchen .
The motel is located within easy walking distance of shopping and many cafe and restaurant choices . We sampled a few !
The staff are fabulous and really helpful with ideas and there is a very helpful guide in the room where they seem to have thought of everything .
We had an upstairs room which was very warm due to the extreme temperatures at the time, unfortunately there was no air conditioning but we did have a fan. The beds were reasonably comfortable, we had a double and single and slept well. The room was quite large and had a decent shower.
The kitchen has a small cooktop, microwave and the seal on the fridge was broken. The decor and furniture were worn and the place needs a bit of TLC but the unit was clean. The shower works on a califont system and the pressure was pathetic. The shower in our caravan works 100% better. The light bulb was blown over the vanity. Ok for a 1 night stay.
For some bizarre reason, before we arrived, I was offered an upgrade to a larger bedroom which I opted for, even though I had advised the motel on initial booking that my wife was disabled. This upgraded room was up a flight of stairs and was so ‘dated’ that it sadly looked like it had had no attention for at least 30-years. The decor was dreadful, the room dreary and upsetting and totally cramped. The small double bed was relatively comfortable as was the single bed.
I noted there were (what appeared to be) Access rooms on the ground floor. Therefore, I take it that the company would prefer to take money and greatly inconvenience guests rather than think positively. I know not all disabilities are visible; however, a couple in the Access room were on our train and the room would have been much better suited for my physical mobility disabled wife.
It was undoubtedly the worst accommodation by far amongst the 12 different hotels/motels we stay on our trip.
trying to do your laundry was rather poor, could only use between 2 and 5.30 pm. But most time it was used by management and you could not use until they had finished.
Close to railway station was good and to local shop.
We have stayed here twice in the last 3 weeks and both stays were very good except the event that soured our stay.
We were booked on the Coastal Pacific train which leaves at 7am. The motel offers a drop off service and we booked this for 6.15am. Unfortunately nobody picked us up so at 6.25am we had to drag our bags to the station. Luckily it is not too far and we were capable of walking the distance.
It was disappointing that 2 good stays should end like that.
This motel is within walking distance of a number of restaurants.
