We were booked into this very homely B&B by our agents Audley Travel (who by the way were fantastic and knowledgeable about NZ) We loved everything about the place which was a sheep dairy farm in the past and we had the pleasure of staying in the old dairy cottage. A small cute stand alone building next to the main cottage with everything you need for a two day stay. Very comfortable bed, table chairs, fridge and microwave if needed and a nice comfortable ensuite. The owners Marcus & Michelle were perfect hospitable hosts who would make the locals proud.
Marcus and Michelle, what a lovely couple. We stayed in the Old Dairy, it had everything we needed for a 2 night stay, the bed was super comfy and the shower was excellent. We used the BBQ on both nights and had an excellent stay. The hot tub at 9pm watching the stars was especially romantic and enjoyable. Stay in this oasis of joy, it really will refresh you. My highlight was being shown Ned in the distance!!
Stayed at St Leonard’s for two nights during our NZ road trip. We stayed in The Cottage which was great. Marcus and Michele were not there when we arrived but the had left a welcoming note on their door with directions to the cottage. They came by later on to introduce themselves and were extremely friendly and ready to help with any queries. Breakfast provisions were in the fridge (eggs laid by their hens, fresh juice, milk and bread) and the kitchen was well stocked. We were there over valentines weekend so went to the supermarket (5 min drive or 20 min walk) to stock up and make ourselves dinner each night. It was fab to be able to spread out and relax after lots of hotel rooms. There’s a nice pool and hot tub as well. Really enjoyed our stay
Great place to stay, I wish we had more time here. The Cottage is very clean and well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a “breakfast pack” which comprised OJ, yoghurts, milk, muesli, eggs, bread etc. Nice to meet the sheep and feed them lemons from the trees, and to see the deer, alpaca and chickens. Excellent hosts, very helpful with advice on wine tours and what to expect on the next stage of our NZ tour. Thanks to Michele and Marcus.
We would like to thank Michelle and Marcus for doing everything possible to make our stay of 2 nights so amazing. Everything about this place is spot on,from the owners, location, things to see etc. We had the pleasure of Michelle and Marcus's company for a few hours on our last night sharing a couple of glasses of wine, a fantastic evening, thank you. We couldn't have asked for anything more from our stay. We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for accommodation in the Marlborough wine region. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Gary and Elinot x
The cottages are situated in a large and beautiful garden surrounded by vineyards. The complex also has yards containing fruit trees and a variety of tame animals - sheep, llamas, deer, and chickens. Our cottage was clean and comfortable and well equipped - we even had some freshly laid eggs from the chickens. The hosts were very friendly, polite and helpful. They achieved that delicate balance of being around and sociable without intruding on our peace and serenity. while there we also visited the Aviation Historical Museum and the Blenheim Museum and would recommend both. All in all a great two night stay which we would recommend and repeat should we return to Blenheim.
The hosts are the rudest people on the earth. The refused to check in azt 8pm with 3 little children just because there were one more 4 child with us. The apartmant was for 5 adults (we were 4 adults, 2 children and 1 infant). However we have alread paid the price. They also refused that 2 adults and one infant to check in. It was 9 pm and we trevalled 600 kms that day. Just imagine. The accomodation is very expensive. There are much more and much better places to stay in this region. Choose something else
My husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and we had the most incredible stay at St Leonard’s. We have been traveling for 4 months and this has been our favorite accommodation. Would highly recommend for any couple or family! Most importantly, the hosts Marcus and Michele are the kindest people we have ever met and truly make you feel like you are staying with family. Cottage: Our place was charming with the feel of an old farm cottage outfitted with clean modern conveniences (heat, AC, kitchenette, etc.) The kitchen had everything we needed and bed was extremely comfortable. Property: The cottages are nestled in vineyards so they are very private and from the property you always have views of the vines. The property also has a small farm with fruit trees that you are…
We stayed here for 2 nights after travelling the North Island and staying in large chain hotels. This little gem was just a breath of fresh air with very comfortable self catering accommodation, very clean, well appointed in a beautiful location and the most wonderful hosts in Michelle and Marcus. A perfect base for exploring Marlborough and the vineyards. They are full of local knowledge and gave advice on sights to see and the fresh eggs provided in their breakfast hamper from their small holding are the best! Highly recommend!
Rather unusual with 5 separate cottages all of different size and accommodation. We stayed in “the dairy” which is the smallest of them, perhaps a little too small, but we had a look at some of the other rooms and all were well presented and maintained the quaint feel that pervades. Breakfast in the fridge included ultra fresh eggs and the rooms provide cooking facilities so fried eggs on toast it was. With a lovely outlook it was breakfast al fresco. Dinner was more complex as it is a 3 km walk to the nearest hostelry - or a taxi ride. Marcus and Michele were great hosts and clearly care about their guests.
