ST LEONARD’S VINEYARD COTTAGES is set on 4.5 acres, with self-contained boutique cottages positioned around the semi-rural property. The original farm homestead (circa 1886) is home to your hosts - Jason & Sharon - and is an excellent example of early NZ colonial architecture. The house is situated in the hub of this private setting with century-old walnut, gum and elm trees. The charming cottages are themed around the old farm buildings, offering their own unique view of mountains, vines or gardens, and are privately located around the property. They are all fully self-contained and self-catering. Make the most of your idyllic surroundings by exploring the grounds with its picturesque gardens and majestic trees. Near the lemon grove you will find sheep, alpaca and chickens (all prepared to become your new best friend for a handful of food) plus a couple of shy deer. Pool, Petanque, lawn tennis. We are proud to have received both the Silver Qualmark and Covid Clean Approved Awards.

Stayed at St Leonard’s for two nights during our NZ road trip. We stayed in The Cottage which was great. Marcus and Michele were not there when we arrived but the had left a welcoming note on their door with directions to the cottage. They came by later on to introduce themselves and were extremely friendly and ready to help with any queries. Breakfast provisions were in the fridge (eggs laid by their hens, fresh juice, milk and bread) and the kitchen was well stocked. We were there over valentines weekend so went to the supermarket (5 min drive or 20 min walk) to stock up and make ourselves dinner each night. It was fab to be able to spread out and relax after lots of hotel rooms. There’s a nice pool and hot tub as well. Really enjoyed our stay

Great place to stay, I wish we had more time here. The Cottage is very clean and well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a “breakfast pack” which comprised OJ, yoghurts, milk, muesli, eggs, bread etc. Nice to meet the sheep and feed them lemons from the trees, and to see the deer, alpaca and chickens. Excellent hosts, very helpful with advice on wine tours and what to expect on the next stage of our NZ tour. Thanks to Michele and Marcus.

My wife and I have just stayed at St Leonards Vineyard Cottages over the long weekend and wow! This really is an amazing part of the country, made all the better by a couple of wonderful hosts.

Our cottage was easily big enough for the two of us and was equipped with everything you could possibly need for a couple. We used the bbq for two of the three nights and it was no drama at all. There is a Park and Save a two minute drive away just down the road is a real bonus to pick up some supplies.

The provisions provided for breakfast each day were very generous, and in particular the eggs were awesome for breakfast each morning. Being able to eat outside at the table watching the sun come up over the Wither Hills vines was such a great way to start the day.

The sheep, lambs, chickens, alpaca, deer and cat were all very friendly and are very welcoming. The sheep loved being fed some lemons, which was a nice surprise. Nellie the lamb is most certainly the star of the show and really does love a good chin scratch.

We stayed for three nights in the Shearer’s Quarters and could not have asked for a better stay. This is quite possibly the best accommodation I’ve had the pleasure of staying at in New Zealand.

There is also a swimming pool and spa available, as well as a children’s playhouse, pétanque set and a grass tennis court!

Michele and Marcus are absolutely wonderful hosts and nothing is too much effort for them. Really lovely, friendly great people. We really can’t thank them enough for their hospitality.

Thank you so much for having us and we’ll definitely be back!

We were booked into this very homely B&B by our agents Audley Travel (who by the way were fantastic and knowledgeable about NZ) We loved everything about the place which was a sheep dairy farm in the past and we had the pleasure of staying in the old dairy cottage. A small cute stand alone building next to the main cottage with everything you need for a two day stay. Very comfortable bed, table chairs, fridge and microwave if needed and a nice comfortable ensuite. The owners Marcus & Michelle were perfect hospitable hosts who would make the locals proud.

This was a great place to stay for a long weekend to Marlborough. All cottages are a short distance apart to give you complete privacy. The owners were super welcoming and gave us lots of locals tips and advice. You can even pick fruit from their trees when in season. The cottage itself was comfortable with everything we needed and more. We looked out onto a vineyard. Pure bliss! Great value

My partner and I absolutely LOVED our three nights in the Shearer’s Quarters. We could not recommend this place any more highly and can't wait to return again!

Our cottage was charming, equipped with everything we needed and included very generous breakfast provisions. We loved eating our breakfast outside every morning listening to the birds and looking out over the vineyards. We even used the BBQ one evening which was lovely and so easy having Pak n Save so close by.

The property itself is stunning, beautifully maintained gardens and plenty of friendly animals. Pickles the cat is a really cutie, only to be upstaged by gorgeous Nellie the lamb. One of the highlights of our trip was feeding little Nellie her bottle. We also loved feeding the sheep lemons (yes lemons?!) and checking out the impressive chicken penthouse.

After walking the QCT we also really appreciated the spa pool to relax in and ease our aching muscles in the evening.

We cannot thank Michele and Marcus enough for an absolutely wonderful stay! We really enjoyed meeting you both and hope to see you again one day.

The cottages were recommended to us and we were sooo pleased that we could stay there. The cottage we stayed in was private, quiet and comfortable. It was very well appointed with all the things we needed to help enjoy our stay. The themed approach to the decoration of the cottages is novel and very tasteful. Thankyou to our lovely helpful hosts who provided excellent advice about local attractions and vineyard wineries. Also a special thankyou for the loan of the 2 bikes and safety equipment free of charge as we really appreciated that. We learned that the sheep and Deer in the lemon tree paddock loved eating lemons which surprised us as we took great delight in feeding them. We enjoyed our stay sooo much we intend to return at the nearest opportunity.

We would like to thank Michelle and Marcus for doing everything possible to make our stay of 2 nights so amazing. Everything about this place is spot on,from the owners, location, things to see etc. We had the pleasure of Michelle and Marcus's company for a few hours on our last night sharing a couple of glasses of wine, a fantastic evening, thank you. We couldn't have asked for anything more from our stay. We would highly recommend this place if you are looking for accommodation in the Marlborough wine region. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Gary and Elinot x

Gorgeous cottages set on several acres in Malborough. It’s a perfect place to base yourself as you explore. The hosts were warm and welcoming, the cottages had everything you could need, including fresh eggs from the hens. We got to visit and feed the sheep and deer, and pick fruit from the tree. The food and wine recommendations were fantastic as well. We’d love to go back!

Marcus and Michelle, what a lovely couple. We stayed in the Old Dairy, it had everything we needed for a 2 night stay, the bed was super comfy and the shower was excellent. We used the BBQ on both nights and had an excellent stay. The hot tub at 9pm watching the stars was especially romantic and enjoyable. Stay in this oasis of joy, it really will refresh you. My highlight was being shown Ned in the distance!!
