Was quite concerned reading reviews already having booked. Not as bad as reviews but there are better places for similar price Positives - good location, parking outside unit, everything clean and good supply of towels. Heated towel rail was useful Negative- lighting in unit is one central bulb with switch by the entrance - so had to use torch on phone to get to bed after switching light off. Ditto for going to bathroom in night Bathroom was obviously newly refurbished accessible wet room but although spacious was awkward to use. No towel rail near washbasin or shower. Only useful power socket was on kitchen unit - fortunately I had a long charging cable which was long enough Fine for an overnight stay with no frills

I recently stayed and was perturbed to find the office not only closed for checkin, but a list in the window of the names of those staying . So much for privacy. Heater didn't work, took til 3rd day to get another. Cupboard too high for oldies. Staff were fab, but manager needs to be more user friendly.

Very comfortable roomy unit and friendly helpful hosts. The price is reasonable and the unit very clean and tidy. Close to shops wineries and town. Considering it is on a main road there was no traffic noise in the unit. We will definitely stay there again.

If you are looking for cheap and cheerful then there are better options in Blenheim. The Knightsbridge at least is better value for money for around the same price point with modern heat pumps and better cleanliness. Just make sure there is no one above you.
Cherylea did have more modern bathroom features and fantastic water pressure but the heating option wasn’t great. The lights harsh on the eyes. And cleanliness wasn’t the best.

Advised Peter the owner I would be arriving late and I had an oversize trailer . I never got instructed where to park it .. just that the room would be open and outside light on
Due to there being no room to maneuver trailer easily onto car parking space
( and I was being as thoughtful and respectful of not driving on the grass)
I finally parked on the Tarseal space provided so that I wasn't blocking access or the wheels being on lawn while stationary.
The next morning after not sleeping due to the wobbliest most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept on , I proceeded to the office to pay, was welcomed by a cantankerous old man that said he was bloody annoyed I ruined the grass!
I apologized and explained I tried my best not to and he should go see all the other track marks on edge of grass beside driveway
He was then facetious and dismissive of me .
Even worse.... he charged me an additional $70 dollars after we had driven off ..... siphoned from my credit card!
Photo shows the slight imprint I made.
Avoid this place at all costs. . Unless you want a motel room beside some homeless drunks that occupy a room next door that the government pay for .

We booked a 2 bed executive room, that isn’t what we got. Peter the owner was extremely unhelpful and would not accept the fact he had mislead us with false advertising. When we challenged him he told us to go away. We wouldn’t. We questioned him on another room which was the executive room, he said that was none of our business and it was taken. Thirty degree heat and no air con. We asked for a fab, after huffing and puffing he finally got us one, obviously we were inconveniencing him. We asked again about the room, he said leave, offered us a refund then seconds later changed his mind. My two friends are visiting me from the uk and I was embarrassed by him to be honest, so I tried again. Other guests arrived as I was trying to resolve the problem, he said to them - bet you can’t guess where she’s from in a nasty voice. He continued to ignore me. I asked him what he would do in my position, being mislead, he would not discuss it. Just abused me when he did bother to speak. The man is racist and a male chauvinist who needs some lessons in customer service. Rooms very basic. Not enough chairs for us all to sit outside. We have reported him to booking.com who are currently trying to get our money back so we can stay somewhere else. I have also reported him to the commerce commission. I have learnt a very important lesson today, check places out before you book and if you have been mislead take the necessary action to try and make sure he can’t keep doing it. The most horrible man I have ever met in my life, at least Basil Fawlty had a sense of humour. Here is more but I’m giving him too much of my time…… Photo is of the room we should have got

Good location, close to Picton. Manager friendly and helpful, especially when washer wouldn't start. Rang an engineer whilst I was in the laundry and got it going. Money collection drawer missing so a $2 coin inserted multiple times got everything done 😀. Disabled room (not required or requested) had wet room shower. Curtain old and dirty, shower pressure poor and water ran out into wet room towards bedroom door. Poor room layout, only 1 breakfast stool so one of us had to stand to eat breakfast 😞.

Abysmal customer service despite being a repeat stay over consecutive weeks and paying for the most expensive unit there. Let some food in the fridge and when called next days got told it was thrown out, no curtesy call to collect first. Will not be returning!

We got into the room pulled the sheets back and there were hairs, I found a total of 4 hairs in just one bed! Yellow stains all over the sheets and the manager was very rude, he refused to give us a refund and told us to suck it up. And when we told him there was a hair in the bed he said he wasn’t surprised! If you are considering coming here, DONT!

I have stayed here many times, usually only overnight after the ferry, so don’t usually speak to the manager. This time staying for a weekend, but did not get the room I ordered, only got a Studio. When I questioned this, I got rudely abused and told I could leave.
Do NOT stay here if you expect any form of customer service, or at least some who is polite. This man has obviously lost all joy in life and should not be managing a hotel, or in fact have anything to do with customer service. It’s a wonder they have any customers at all given his behaviour.
