A wonderfully quiet and peaceful setting amongst acres of gardens, this well set up, clean apartment was perfect for our getaway weekend. The owners have thought about what makes a good stay, like crisp linen on the bed, to a heat pump and fly screens on the windows. Pity the weather was not conducive to sitting on the patio, admiring the gardens and sipping on a bottle of wine. Next time! We

PEter and Trish are very friendly, helpful hosts. The fruit from the orchard is a delicious bonus, as is Trish's homemade jam for breakfast. The two bedroom apartment and double room attached to the house are beautifully decorated and feel very home-like and comfortable. There are lots of interesting activities nearby, as well as great restaurants and wineries.

My husband and I just visited Marlborough with another couple. We stayed for 3 nights in Andrew and Wendy’s barn apartment. It was the perfect accommodation for us.

Two bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, lead off the hallway from the common room with mini kitchen. Each room has it own air conditioning unit, which came in handy during the summer to ensure comfortable sleeping temperatures. The kitchen was well equipped, and the fridge came stocked with ample breakfast supplies: eggs, bacon, milk, bread, juice, butter, honey, muesli, etc. Plus a bottle of wine, chilled and ready to enjoy along with a delicious local cheese!

The best part of the Ryland cottage was its setting. The grounds are beautifully maintained, full of flowers that the owners carefully tend to themselves. And the location cannot be beat. We took long walks to several cellar doors (wineries) and dinner at Herzog. And there are many more wineries only a short drive away.

In sum, I cannot recommend Ryland Estate highly enough. We felt so welcomed by Andrew and Wendy, and nothing we needed was a problem for them—restaurant reservations, more coffee pods, using the outdoor grill. They are natural hosts, and the perfect embodiment of New Zealand hospitality.

Beautiful, private accommodations, set among the vineyards and a stone fruit orchard. Within biking distance of several great wineries in the Blenheim area. Short drive to Renwick and Blenheim for restaurants and grocery stores.
Peter and Trish are extremely accommodating and took care to ensure we had a great stay, providing local recommendations and even offered to make us a restaurant reservation. Breakfast provisions were delicious- I will forever remember the homemade granola. We enjoyed cooking and sitting on the porch/lawn and watching the sunset. Perfect spot for a few relaxing days.

Our two couples stayed in the Barn, where we were provided with generous quantities of food for breakfast. The setting at Ryland Estate could not be equaled anywhere in Marlborough. Peter and Trish are wonderful gardeners and the surrounding fruit trees and garden provide a tranquil home in the middle of Wine Country in Marlborough. We highly recommend staying here no matter the season.

This is a beautiful setting, but what makes it really special is how accommodating Peter and Trish are. We arrived late, but that didn't faze them. They also booked dinner for us and even dropped us off at the restaurant. Then the next day they let us have a very late checkout. Lovely decor and wee touches like chocolates and fruit in the rooms make this a special place.

Earlier this month I stayed at Ryland Estate with my husband and 18 month old toddler. Ryland Estate was the perfect place to relax and experience the wineries. With plenty of space, my little one could run around in the gardens during the day and the rooms were very comfortable. I would highly recommend this B&B if you have a young family going on holidays.

Wonderful setting on a fruit farm with welcoming hosts who are full of good advice about visiting the area. Cozy room with ensuite. Delicious breakfast to be prepared with the added delight of some of the wonderful fruit produced on the farm. A bonus is that one can walk across the fields to one of only two wineries that does evening meals. No worries about NZ's new, lower drink/drive limits.

My husband and I decided on this place one day before arriving and made an online booking via some booking portal. However, upon arriving, we realised that our hosts, Peter and Trish, did not receive the booking. Very fortunately, they were not expecting anyone and made quick arrangements to settle us in the Barn.
Stepping into the Barn, there was a lot of oohs, aahs, wows... It's a cosy home away from home. Rooms were beautifully decorated and there's a window next to the dining table which overlooks the vineyard next door.
Indeed like what others described, it's a beautiful garden outside the Barn. Flowering plants, shy doves and the greenery were just heavenly treat for the soul. It's just such simple joy to be able to roam around the picturesque garden and relax in the warm sunshine.Trish offered us their cherries and they were the best we've tried. After trying those from the Rylands, the other cherries were just passable. My husband love the grapefruits and the jams made by Trish.
When we arrived at the estate, I had a slight sprained ankle. Peter offered me ice packs which really helped to reduce the swell. We were grateful that the next day, I was good enough to walk and we even attempted a quick cycle along the river behind the estate.
