We keep coming back to Nokomai Station and each time we return we are reminded how beautiful the place is! A large working sheep station there is always action. We went fly fishing and were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day to explore the river. The food was delicious - Louise expertly managed a full house producing a dinner of venison and chocolate mousse for dessert. Thank you to Ann and Brian for another wonderful stay.

This was the highlight of three weeks on the South Island. It is simply wonderful. It's actually beyond fantastic. It's natural beauty is amazing, Ann and her staff are friendly and helpful. The food is scrumptious and plentiful. The 'cabins' are very comfortable, large, fully equipped and have lovely porches for sitting and looking at the beautiful surroundings. There is a ton to do on the station. Lots of walks, outstanding fishing, a helicopter to take you on a tour, or drop you at the top of something and let you walk down. We were lucky enough to watch two shepherds and ten dogs move over a thousand sheep from one place to another. Very exciting. Ann also gave us a tour of the station and explained the sheep operations to us. It was an outstanding visit.

We stayed here one night on our way to Milford Sound. Apparently, most come here for extended stays while fly fishing; however, this was a pleasant and unique way for our family to see NZ! Run by a local family, with warm-friendly-B&B style service; Nokomai was a treat! Be sure to get there for dinner. The food was one of our best meals in NZ! And sheep for miles! Don't be put off by the long, gravel drive in- it through us for a loop...definitely remote!

We stayed for 3 nights. We wanted a place to relax and unwind - far away from the crowds. This station is the perfect get away. The cottages are large, comfortable and fully equipped (washer, dryer,tv, Internet). We choose to have lunches and dinners catered by the station. Louise's meals are fantastic and the portions more then generous. You will not go hungry. We arranged a half day of trout fishing. We are fly fishing beginners but with our guide Len's exceptional lesson we caught several brown trout. I highly recommend giving it a try. Spent a half day trekking up the river creek and the scenery was magnificent. There are lots of activities that we did not have a chance to try -biking, horseback trekking etc... We spent 3 weeks driving around the South Island and this

I've been fishing in NZ South Island yearly since 1991 and have stayed in a large variety of backcountry huts, motels, B+B's, tents and lodges but my recent stay at Nokomai Station this month was one of the most memorable ever. I think it's certainly amongst the most beautiful places I've ever stayed in and the hospitality from Ann and her husband and the amazing Louise who runs the accomodation is faultless. Her cooking confirms her past professional chef status and they can't do enough for you. If you want to fish the Mataura, Oreti, Whitestone and many more rivers around then book one of the excellent guides for whatever number of days you want and if with a non fishing partner then they will enjoy the many other options available to them too. I haven't a single criticism of
