The arrangements made for our stay some months ahead of my partners presentation at Government House were made by phone call, email and at the time appeared to be in hand. However, upon arrival they was not the case. Many requests and bookings made (dinner for 8, day parking and room access for dressing the party of 8) were not listed, remembered, sorted or booked? However, due to the professionalism of the staff at reception especially Mr Mathew Jelas, the restaurant manager Mr Egle Tagel, the restaurant staff, especially Marie (from Moscow) have made our arrival, staff and celebration of Dianne's achievement (MNZM) heartfelt and respectful. Mathew's manner upon our arrival at reception has been patient and caring. Mr Tagel, simply amazing and highly professional with a gift for our party during dinner. Marie, the jewel of the team, a lovely young lady with a highly infectious personality, well skilled in her role within the restaurant. Her manner and interaction with patrons simply magic, thank you. To all the team at the Rydges Wellington Featherston Street, thanks for the "Happy stay the Rydges way"! see you again .... soon. Regards Martin Dunedin

Disappointing........ the spa was luke warm, the sauna was the same and took forever to get it heated to up, we had to keep the curtains closed in our room as a huge neon billboard was going 24/7 for the price $350+ per night + parking of $30 per night - NO it was wanting to say the least.

My partner and I stayed at Rydges Wellington for my best friends wedding. The rooms were awesome and were perfectly suited and situated for everyone who stayed. Nick was outsanding when co-ordinating the rooms on level 2 by giving great advice and making the spaces look amazing. Nick was also extremely helpful and flexible when we were delayed with pre-wedding prep. Not only did Nick have outstanding customer service but we found this in every area from the car valet to the manager at the Portlander!! The restaurant meal was amazing and delicious, again I could not fault the amazing staff who work there and the Pot luck dinner was fantastic for everyone who was there. Thank you Rydges we highly recommend staying here.

I chose this accom after using it for work and being impressed so this time booked it for a family get away. It’s a great location and an easy walk to everything. When we arrived in the morning the front desk happily checked our bags in and later took them to our room when it was ready. They looked after them when we checked out as well as our flight was late afternoon. Really appreciated it. We did not have dinner in the restaurant as the night we wanted to, it was too busy. Suggest booking as I hear the food is delicious. We had the buffet breakfast one morning which did not disappoint. Again, be patient as it gets busy. Sadly housekeeping let us down on the over all experience in room 1112. The first morning we were woken to the alarm the previous guest must have set- a quick check would have been an added touch. The room was very dusty and when we turned on the heater dust flew everywhere. Went to pour a glass of wine, first wine glass was dirty, second had a chip out of it and the third had what looked like coke stuck in the bottom. Yuck! The next morning, around 9, we put our dirty towels in the tub and attached the “please make our room” sign to the door. We got back at 4:30 and found someone had come in the room and replaced the shampoo and conditioner and hung the dirty towels back up. They were still wet. The beds were not made, no extra loo paper so we ended up using tissues and the glasses had been rinsed (not washed) and put back in the drawer wet...even the chipped one!!! On top of the drain in the shower/tub being blocked, I was not impressed. In fact, during a global pandemic, I expected more.
