We offer our guests free unlimited WiFi and a free breakfast everyday during their stay. Fresh towels are available on demand anytime you like. We have a variety of rooms which include spacious private double's, twins, triples, a family room, 4-bed dorms, a female dorm room and a generous 8-bed dorm. Reception is open everyday between 6:30AM and 9PM but we can arrange to welcome you if you are arriving later. The friendly staff can help with booking a variety of local activities and onward journeys including the Interislander and Bluebridge ferries to Picton.

We booked for an overnight in Wellington, our three adult sons and us, a couple. We were attending a wedding and just wanted an overnight bed but we got much more than that. Our sons arrived from Auckland early and went to the hostel to drop their bags and out for brunch. They were offered breakfast by the hosts, which was most unexpected and very much appreciated. The rooms and the facilities were extremely clean and well cared for and we were treated like royalty - nothing was too much trouble for them. Our included breakfast the next day was plentiful, with a good variety. We found the Dwellington an amazing place to stay, very reasonable and beyond our expectations.

The D’wellington is by far the best hostel in NZ. Fabulous people who run the place and all the people who currently and have previously helped keep the place clean and tidy do a fabulous job. Flo is wonderful and happy all the time. This is a fantastic location with only a 5 to 10 minute walk into the city and the scenic waterfront. It doesn’t feel like a typical hostel. The kitchen facilities are up to date and the mini cinema room with everything you want is amazing. Make sure you book the cinema room if planning to use it though as it is quite popular. It has good outdoor space to sit and enjoy the sun. Free use of tennis courts as well is an excellent feature. Would definitely stay again in the future.

When I got stranded in Wellington, Dwellington was the only place that could provide me a room for a real cheap price! They were welcoming at the front desk and not too in your face. The room itself was clean and homey! It’s in the perfect location too, only a 5-7 minute walk to the city streets. Fully recommend to anyone looking for a place near the city, that’s cheap and welcoming.

This is the fourth time I have stayed here!! I am a grandmother and usually come with my daughter and granddaughter’s. The hospitality is amazing, the girl that runs it works so hard and is cheerful and so welcoming.. It is always spotless and bathroom and kitchens kept at a very high standard. I attended a conference and stayed at the Dwellington for four nights. I was attracted by the proximity to the conference and the really cool name (great play on words). Florencia and the team made sure that I was looked after, including a couple of really curly situations that made us all think outside the box.

This is a place I never thought could actually exist in the middle of a city. This hostel has everything, Tennis court, Squash court, breakfast, cinema room, nice lounge with guitars, free spices and cooking oil, tea, coffee, drinking chocolate, literally everything! even free plat based milk. But the hostel features and decor is only part of what makes this place amazing. The manager Florencia, makes this place shine like crazy, she s so friendly and extremely helpful and makes the vibe of the hostel so much better... there are some nice longtermers staying there too, everything is just cozy and clean. One of the best hostels in the world for sure! I would highly recommend this place!

Amazing facilities and good crowd! However, just watch out for the receptionist. Argentinian woman unprofessional, couldn't manage a p*ss up in a brewery. I could not believe how rude she was to guests. Screaming, shouting running around like a headless chicken. Her anxiety is contagious... everyone is walking on eggshells around her. I would visit again only If they change the staff.

What a fantastic accommodation choice. I had a room by myself (I'm a private person) yet found I could also be as social as I wanted with the lovely kitchen and lounge areas. It was brilliant meeting so many wonderful kind people in a relaxed, beautiful environment. My room was warm (HRV system and heater) dry and very comfortable. I would recommend to anyone who wants a more personal, interactive accommodation experience. Loved having breakfast provided that had many dietary needs covered. So kind.

Fantastic location, lovely clean room with super comfy beds. Very well equipped kitchen and a very generous breakfast with excellent coffee provided as part of the price. Kids LOVED the cinema room and access to the tennis courts. They are already begging to return! Staff were very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place.
