Bolton Hotel in Wellington was definitely a good find. The hallway looked and felt dated, but the full-functioning apartment was spacious, comfortable and felt quite homey. The ladies at the reception were pleasant, friendly and helpful. The location was strategic, within close walking distance to the waterfront, restaurants and shops in the business district. The free parking at the hotel was full so we had to park in the parking building across the street. It was still quite convenient, but we did have to pay for parking. Overall it was a bit pricey, but we enjoyed the experience of staying here so we felt it was worth it.

This hotel is alright - I'd recommend it if you just need a place to crash, but it's lacking in amenities though it is comfortable enough. The biggest headache here is parking. They recommend pre-booking valet parking ($$$) and if you don't, it will likely be full when you arrive. Their suggestions? Try to find street parking (good luck) or use the garage across the way, which features the tiniest spots known to man. Otherwise, this is a very basic hotel, but is in a nice walkable location to many things in Wellington, including Parliament, farmers markets, restaurants, etc.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts about your recent stay with us. We appreciate your feedback and would like to address some of the points you raised to ensure a more enjoyable experience for future guests. We are delighted to hear that you found our hotel's location convenient, with its proximity to Wellington's key attractions such as Parliament, farmers markets, and restaurants. Our goal is to provide a comfortable and walkable environment for our guests to explore the city. Regarding the amenities, we regret to hear that you found them lacking. We take pride in offering a variety of facilities, including a pool, fitness center, spa pool, sauna, and an in-house restaurant. Additionally, our suites are equipped with full kitchens, washer dryers, and living rooms to enhance the overall stay experience. We understand that parking can be challenging, especially for larger vehicles. To address this concern, we do recommend pre-booking our valet parking service at $40 per night. Our small footprint limits on-site parking availability, and we strive to inform our guests of this in advance through confirmation emails and pre-arrival messages to facilitate a smooth check-in process. For those with larger vehicles, we suggest the adjacent car park, which offers spaces for larger SUVs. While we acknowledge that particularly large cars may need to use on-street parking or the nearby open-air public car park, we are constantly working toimprove the suggestions for the parking for all our guests. We appreciate your understanding and hope that, despite the parking challenges, you were able to enjoy the comfort and convenience our hotel strives to provide. We value your feedback and look forward to the opportunity to welcome you back for an even more enjoyable stay in the future. Best regards,

The Bolton hotel was by far the best value we had on our entire trip in New Zealand. It was also the nicest place we stayed, and many were rated better. The bedding was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom was very clean, and our room had a washing machine in it, which was particularly helpful. In addition, the staff was tremendous, and the restaurant was surprisingly good for a “hotel” restaurant.

Pure luxury. We booked a Dinner, Sleep, Breakfast package and it was lush! Very spacious suite with huge bathroom and comfortable, functional living area. Checked in at 330 and made use of the spa and swimming pool before dressing for a fab dinner in house at Artisan. Very relaxing and wonderful food. Then a peaceful nights sleep, before a hot buffet breakfast and a late check-out! Couldn't have asked for more, good value for money for a staycation.

Probably one of the most enjoyable rooms we've stayed in for ages. Location is central and amazing (200m from the Beehive) and the room facilities were everything you want and need and done really well. It doesn't set out to be uber stylish but instead anticipates everything a traveller needs and does it brilliantly. Loads of space for cases, lovely views over botanic gardens, huge tv with all the channels, self catering kitchenette is excellently equipped if you're sick of eating out, and unlike so many hotels lighting and power points were great all with total privacy. Gym and pool/sauna were a nice treat and staff were unfailingly helpful and friendly. Hotels like this are why Airbnb often seem such poor value nowadays.

From the very beginning all the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was on the 11th floor and had a good view. It was clean, spacious and quiet. The location was handy as we walked to most attractions. The hotel offered car parking for a price and we had breakfast included which we found useful
