Stranded in Wellington due to weather. Ordered a cheese board which involves ZER0 cooking. Waited over half an hour, kept ringing Front Desk, Operator and Room Service and no answer, finally got through and cancelled my order. 1 minute later the restaurant rings my room to say cheeseboard ready - too late. Absolute shocking service.
Why anyone other than a horror set designer would decorate a hotel room with headboard, art and curtains to look like there had been a massacre in the room is beyond belief. It is so unnerving especially in a corporate hotel.
I stayed here for a weekend away and to catch up with an old friend. I’m not sure how this place rates itself as 4.5 star? It had a backpackers feel when we walked in. It was very dated. At one stage we rang down for some amenities and could not get hold of anyone at the front desk or housekeeping (tried for 20 minutes) finally got hold of someone at the restaurant. It also took ages to check in. The stay was extremely over priced for what it was. On the flip side the beds were nice a comfy and the place was clean.
This trip was a four night stay. We have stayed many times at the Novotel Wellington. As Accor Plus members we are happy with the deal we get staying here. The hotel is well placed to get around the sights of Wellington. The rooms are comfortable. We do not have breakfast in the hotel, as we do not see it as value for money. But we have seen the breakfast buffet and there is a nice selection. We usually always eat in the hotel for dinner, as we get a good discount with our Accor Plus card. The beef burger and the lamb shank were both excellent. The fish and chips not so good - somewhat overcooked. A pity about so many guests not bothering with face masks when moving around the hotel, but this must be very difficult for the hotel to enforce. This will remain our preferred Wellington hotel.…
Tired property. Needs a ream out. No dinner service. Offered a snack menu prepared by wait staff. Not even a chef on duty Appalling for this standard of hotel. Overall well below what you would expect from a Novatel. As an Accor member I will never stay in this hotel again
We normally stay at the Sofitel in Wgtn, however it's easy when travelling as a family to get 2 x double rooms for us and our 3 teenagers. Location is good - right on Lambton Quay but the hotel itself is very basic and quality of food isn't great. But on the plus side it's more reasonably priced than some other hotels - so, worth the money and good for a family group.
having just stayed 16days I look forward to returning soon. The staff were all so polite and accomodating nothing seemed to be a problem. I made sure I sampled their breakfast, lunch and dinner including happy hour and was pleasantly surprised with the Russian mule cocktail. The rooms were tastefully decorated except I must admit I am not a fan of the curtains but they Smelt clean and looked clean. The location was perfect I spent as much time wandering between parliament, botanic gardens, museum including Te papa and where I could not walk I took a elevator down to lambton quay and hopped aboard. Also having other cafes, restaurants so close meant so much variety. All the staff cleaners, cook, restaurant staff , front of house coordinators really were a pleasure to deal with.
We had a great stay at the Novotel Wellington. We stayed 3 nights in an interconnecting room which gave us plenty of space and privacy. We were on level 10 and had a view over the motorway, which didn’t worry us. I don’t think they have interconnecting rooms on the harbour side of the hotel. Special mention to Chef Alex, he is amazing and went above and beyond at breakfast each day
The staff are extremely pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Dinner at the restaurant was excellent. The steak was cooked exactly as requested and nearly fell apart it was so tender. The location is great, go down in the lifts straight into Lambton Quay. I enjoyed a room upgrade and welcome gift on arrival.
I spent a long weekend in Wellington shopping with a group of girls. We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel as it was central to shopping and quick and easy to get ubers to go out for dinner. The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful
