Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Stayed 2 nights. Parliament sitting time so a lot of hotels in the city booked out. Very small room but big bed ! Problem was the roads around the area were blockades and repairs so GPS was lost. Electric car charging is charged with parking fee together. We parked in far place already so didn’t end up using electric charging. Walking distance was ok but a bit far with suitcases.

Room did not match description or visuals. Very small with low-grade student accommodation furniture...but still expensive. No bed side light so you need to use your phone torch to get to your bed. Room service very inconsistent in terms of what cleaned or not cleaned and one day they did not service the room at all. Wi-FI (confirmed by all my other colleagues) was TERRIBLE and consistently dropping signal. Forget about uninterrupted voice or video calls to your family. Fridge warm enough to kill my milk after 24hrs. Room was HOT. NO AC and a small fan - how people manage here in the summer is a complete conundrum. Positives: Reasonably quiet (though I had to have all the (very small) windows open to reduce temperature. Staff were friendly.

This was a very comfortable hotel and very close to my meeting venue, so I could walk there easily. I was grateful that the restaurant was still open when I arrived at 8.00 pm. All the staff were helpful and friendly.

Room was not clean —carpets not vacuumed. Faucet was loose on sink. Staff not friendly and told me breakfast was not included when indeed it was included. No orientation to hotel or restaurant for us but when I went to inquire about breakfast I saw same staff explaining everything to other guests. Hotel is in good location for botanical gardens and some restaurants. More business oriented not for tourists.

Exceptional service, nothing was any trouble for the welcoming staff. The room had everything I needed, and the bed is the most comfortable I have ever had. I will definitely stay here again when travelling to Wellington.

Walking distance to CBD, The Beehive, Te Papa…Quiet neighbourhood. The only flaw was the charge ($25 per night) for parking. Grocery store close by and a great Thai restaurant (Aroy) around the corner.

We were welcomed to the hotel by the extremely friendly staff at the desk. They gave us all the info we needed and were kind enough to upgrade our room to one on the corner of the floor overlooking the hills. All the staff members were super helpful and accommodating. A special shout out to Devang for handling all our request with utmost care and urgency. Kudos to the whole Atura team!! Thanks for making our stay soo special. Will be back for sure.

The exterior has modern paint job however the rooms are very dated and in places needing repair, well ours was on the sixth floor. We had a corner room which was super noisy with street noise and wind however had a large king bed which we prefer. Service at reception was very good. Quick walk to the Chapman Taylor cafe/pup and Thistle Inn, both recommended. Also New World close by

This hotel has become my regular "go-to" accommodation when I need to stay overnight in Wellington. I always receive a warm welcome and the facilities are clean and comfortable. The rates are very reasonable and the property is a only a short walk to a major supermarket and Wellington CBD.
