I was staying with my family for a conference. Breakfast in the restaurant is way too slow as a la carte if you have business hours on the day. My room was only serviced twice over 5 days, The second times after I specially requested it, soo we were out of toilet paper, soap and towels. The room is getting a bit worn and smells a bit old. The kitchen is handy and the beds are comfortable

My wife and I were looking for a nicely appointed central Wellington hotel for our two night stay. We looked at numerous big name options that were expensive (especially after 2-weeks holidaying in NZ from Oz) and came across the Museum Hotel. We didn't realise this hotel adjoins QT and shares the same reception. The foyer and artwork is stunning. The Museum Hotel rooms are behind QT, so our 6th floor room faced the hills behind rather than having a bay view. This was still nice though and the room itself was a cool studio apartment room with full kitchenette. The hotel/s is located easy walking distance to the waterfront, city centre and many restaurants. There is also a supermarket right next door. Worth noting that car parking is expensive in the city consider the $40/nt valet parking for ease. Also noting that parking in the street is free from 8pm to 6am but cost is high for the rest of the day.. Wilson covered carpark is right next door also. The Museum Hotel was the great value, very comfortable and we think as good as any of the top hotels. Highly recommended.

Our room, 104 looked straight into the gym and so we had to keep the curtains closed because people could see usand we had absolutely no natural light. I didn’t like it at all.
There was body wash and shampoo but no other useful product like a body moisturiser or shave pack. Since we assumed those things would be provided, based on the information about the hotel, we didn’t pack any.
The first night, there was no bath mat either. The room looked tired, brown and the benches and draws were scruffy. The pillows smelt like the previous occupants.
All in all, I would not stay with your hotel again, nor would I recommend it to others.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Museum Apartment Hotel in Wellington. The location was perfect, right across the street from the wonderful Te Papa Museum. We spent a rainy morning at Te Papa, walked back to our room to rest and have lunch, and then strolled back for more museum viewing in the afternoon. We loved the quirky artwork throughout the hotel. The staff was polite and attentive and went to some trouble to find a room that was ready for us when we arrived a few hours before check in time. Our room was beautiful, spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we loved having the convenience of a kitchenette so that we could make our own breakfast. Parking was 40 NZD per day, which seemed typical for downtown Wellington, and the staff were very accommodating to make sure that our car was available whenever we needed it. Highly recommend!

I will give 5 stars for the location and lobby decor. If you want a great location near the museum and lots of great eateries, this fits the bill.
Everything else left me feeling disappointed. The room felt dated and blah and dingy. I paid for the upgraded room. It included cooking facilities and a washer/dryer, so that's nice if you wish to make use of it. Otherwise it was just a big open space next to the bed. Like someone had emptied the room of furniture -it was weird. Maybe the other area of the hotel has more updated rooms. This certainly didn't feel like an ugrade - more like a downgrade. The bed felt like the cheapest boxspring that I've ever felt. No coffee in our room. The hot tub and sauna were both out of service during our visit. The power randomly went out for a bit one morning. And our luggage was delivered to someone else's room after check in. Another member of our party was charged for parking a car even though they didn't have one. Double check your charges!! If ever in wellington again, I'd stay somewhere else. This hotel was way too expensive for what it is.

Hi Joflier, Thank you very much for sharing your experience at the Museum Apartment Hotel. We appreciate your comments regarding the lay-out of the room and your thoughts on the bed. I apologize that the hot tub and sauna were out when you visited. We were able to remedy those issues promptly, but I apologize that the outage impacted your stay. I also apologize for the luggage issue and the billing issue on check-out. All points are noted and certainly explain the reason for your low review score. Your feedback will help us in our efforts to provide consistently excellent service. Thank you.

These apartments are very centrally located within walking distance of Te Papa.
Good coffee (but no instant) and a comfortable bed.
We have stayed here for years but sadly, over time the rooms have not been refurbished at all (Exception is the penthouse apartment).
The rooms are very tired, much of the furniture is unstable, walls and doors are damaged and worn. Paint jobs are unfinished. Blinds in one of the apartments require either a net or curtains to block out light. TVs do not have sky.
I had initially reviewed this as average but the review was disputed by QT staff (and then removed) who I feel attempts to distance themselves from the apartments stating that it is a separate business but …. you book in at QT, enter through QT, park via the QT valets and speak to QT staff and these reviews on this site are responded to by……? You guessed it - QT staff. And I think this poor response further lowers the rating.

It’s a real shame.

Thank you very much for your feedback. You highlight a great point - we are one team covering two distinct hotels. The rooms in the Museum Apartment Hotel differ significantly from the rooms at QT Wellington. Many guests enjoy the space and kitchen facilities of the Museum Apartment Hotel. We're sorry that our effort to distinguish the two hotels made a poor impression. Thank you for highlighting this - we'll be mindful. Thanks again.

This is a great place to stay in Wellington - great location beside the harbour, stylish decor and comfortable rooms, quirky artworks in the public spaces, great views, nice lounge/dining area and good facilities. You're close to everything - but also have a sense of space and quietness. We'd happily stay there again.

I stayed at QT apartments. The room was spacious for one person and a great place to recharge and rest after a busy day at a conference. I expected the room and bathroom to be funkier to be in the same style as the QT foyer, bar, restaurant etc. The bathroom and room in general were a bit dated and needed a refurb.

The room service / phone system seemed to be on the blink (engaged tone) during my stay and had to call reception to get through to room service. A little annoying to get the long way round to order room service. It was a long-winded process and room service took some time, I ended up uber eats for the rest of my stay. Similar situation when ordering coffee at breakfast time in the hotel restaurant, such a delay response from staff and coffee would arrive lukewarm and lots of staff swanning around/hovering. No urgency. Breakfast would take some time to be replenished and had to chase staff often and ask "will there be more toast" or "will there be more eggs'.

Average stay in a 2 bedroom apartment that was run down and incredibly noisy on the weekend. The bedrooms were poorly insulated from the street noise and we were subjected to drag racing and loud chat on level 2 which drifted up with no insulation. i may as well have been right on the street.
The mattress was lumpy, sloping and uncomfortable.
Not impressed at $500+ per night.

Room was not ready until 3.15pm on day of check in.

Great location however room very very tired, backed onto other rooms so couldn't open up the curtains and dark. Also AC had no control. Blasted the whole time. A sign said fresh air was getting pumped into room. Certainly wouldn't recommend until an overhaul done. Left feeling very tired and not at all rested.
