Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Extremely disappointed in the owner PJ's regard for his staff and guests. No lock on the lobby door, which is unattended 3pm-9am. A teenage guest was assaulted by a drunk stranger while we were here (literally needed to give him our towel to clean up his wounds while waiting for the police and medic). A lock on the front door and any sense of concern from the owner would have helped. Did not even bother to comp the assaulted guest's room.

Such a disappointing stay for our family. I would recommend double checking your booking with this venue, as their website is very misleading. The five of us were squashed into two small rooms that could not possibly be suitable for a family, even though that was how they were described. There was no one at the premises when we arrived and we hadn't been given any check in instructions so we had to call and find out how to get into our rooms. The pillows were lumpy, there were no openable windows in the second room, and it wasn't very clean. There was also someone in the premises having an all night party and I didn't receive any response when I emailed management about it. The location was great, but that is the only good thing about it. I would class it as budget accommodation at a high price

Avoid this place. Very noisy with conduction work next door and across street. Whole place smells of stale curry. Shared bathroom was clean but very hard to lock and toilet flush not working properly. There's nobody around just a disembodied voice on other end of phone and he was very unhelpful. Had to trek around up and downstairs to unmarked cupboard to get any clean towels. The outside light goes on and off all night and even with blind down puts enough light into room to wake me up...and I am usually a very deep sleeper!

The location and room style were great and the bed and pillow were comfortable. Check out was friendly - hint, if you want to see them, ring the *outside* doorbell then step into the hallway - and they were happy to store my luggage for a few hours. Things that weren't so great: * The "contact-less" check-in procedure. WARNING: they ask you to provide a picture of your passport before they confirm the booking. Via email. This is an incredibly insecure practice and I mentioned my concerns. I finally uploaded a picture of my ID to Dropbox and provided a temporary private link to it. As soon as the booking was confirmed, I deleted the link (and the picture). Not ideal, but better than their email and whoever can get into it for however long they keep these messages for. * Instructions to find the room key in a "safe" for my late arrival were incredibly vague. I don't know why the rooms on the eastern side of the courtyard up the ramp don't have their key safes in the same place as all the others by the reception door. If you have one of these rooms and want to avoid spending 20 mins in the dark at midnight locating it, the ones for rooms 201 and 202 are mounted on the wooden ramp railing directly opposite the door to each room. The one for 203 is on the concrete wall adjacent to the room, at the rear of the ramp. Naturally, they are dark-coloured with no reflective surfaces or signage on them. * What I presume is a hot water cylinder (boxed in with plywood) made "filling"/hissing noise constantly. It did not let up at all, including at night. It wasn't of the relaxing "white noise" kind of noises either. Since there's a building site behind the property, they provided earplugs. I didn't hear a thing from that, but I did use the earplugs for the thing IN the room. My sleep quality was not good. * The wall in the kitchenette was grubby with drip marks above the baseboard. There wasn't a cloth provided to wipe the bench.

Our studio room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom across the hall was fine however it was a bit of a hassle entering with a key (but we knew that we did not have an ensuite so accepted this). On our first night there were some very loud guests so we were woken up. Unfortunately, next door is a building site so that also created noise although they did not operate on a Sunday. We decided to move to different accommodation after the first night. We had to be very assertive to get our money refunded for the remaining 2 nights but PJ came to the party. We did like the location.

The Hair Dryer wasn't Working, it must be there for show. My Wife used her one. You should put up a Sign Saying Not to Use Hair Dryer. Have stayed there many times before. Was great & I would stay there more often. Thanks for having us.

The Hotel we stayed at exceeded our expectations. What I liked about the hotel was that it was super clean, spacious veranda, working jacuzzi, accessible drinking water, mini fridge. I was especially pleased with the location as everything we needed was in walking distance! I’ll for sure come back again!

The bed was great - really comfortable. The heat pump was really annoying, some instructions would have been helpful and when I first texts sent to the cell phone provided were unanswered. When I tried the landline it transpired that the wrong cell number was listed. The heat pump continued to be problematic throughout the stay. With 4 of us staying there was not sufficient seating in the lounge> There was plenty of room in the lounge for a couple of chairs as well, so this was less than ideal.

After a missed flight (7pm and rescheduled for 6.30am) my son suggested I stay here. Hauling bags to the top floor wasn't easy! There was no-one at the reception, so I had to fumble my way with the outside lockbox for access. I had booked a room with a bathroom - however the bathroom was across the hall so this was disappointing ... especially with having to use the facility in the night and having to ensure I had the key to my room so I didn't lock myself out!! The room was cold, the heater made loud clunks so it was easier to leave this off and deal with the cold. Perhaps ideal for students or low cost/less fussy travellers. Not my cup of tea.
