Detailed Reviews
We were welcomed to U boutique by PJ, the manager, who was very friendly. We asked for recommendations on good places to eat, he gave us a couple, but one of which he had a voucher for.. Turns out it was a good recommendation which we thoroughly enjoyed. The room was a good size, comfortable, had a tv and fridge in the room. There was also facilities to make a coffee including some fresh milk. The shared bathroom was clean with fresh towels available, shampoo and body wash in the shower, with a choice of a shower or bath. This place really was affordable luxury! Thanks PJ 😊

We were pleasantly surprised with how lovely this place was for a quick stay. We chose a room with a shared bathroom, which was no issue for us, and only shared between two other rooms, and was never busy when required.
The room was very clean, and the staff were super helpful and really friendly.
Thanks for the great stay!

I hardly ever leave reviews but gosh - I will stay here without a doubt when I next come to Wellington! I felt so looked after by PJ and his team. They left kind welcome notes in my room on both my check-in days, and stored my luggage for me without any trouble and adapted check-in processes to fit my busy schedule. The room and bed were so comfortable and it was great to have the shared bathrooms between only three guest rooms, it was almost always free! I was in room 8 and loved it.
Thank you again, team! See you next time.

A very clean and immaculately presented property.
I loved that every detail has been thought of such as coffee plungers, multi plugs by bed, private patio allowing airflow.
The warm and friendly staff made me feel very welcome.
Highly recommend and I will most certainly stay here next time I visit.

Our family of five was travelling with our French Bulldog and stayed a night in the Frederick Street location before taking the Ferry back to the South Island . Management were really accommodating about having our dog with us, nothing was an issue. We were able to take him for a walk up around the War Memorial where there was plenty of grassed area for him to stretch his legs. The location of the hotel is excellent - a short 5 min walk into town where there are a a large number of bars and restaurants. The rooms were spacious and clean and the customer service exceptional. We had an excellent experience and highly recommend U Boutique Hotel

We finished up a family trip to New Zealand with our last night in Wellington. The hotel is located on a quiet street but still in easy walking distance to lots the downtown district's restaurants and shopping. The rooms are comfortable, not overly luxurious but met all of our needs. The staff was very accommodating to our needs - helping with late arrival, restaurant recommendations, and storing luggage after our check-out time. We mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary when we booked and found a nice card and bottle of wine when we checked in. We booked the 3rd floor, one room had a hot tub and deck which was a nice place to relax and look back on our trip after dinner. We loved Wellington and hope to return in the future - we would certainly stay here again.

We had to make a last minute stop in Wellington and called up at 7PM to book that same night, the person on the phone was friendly and helpful and organized us a room straight away. We had to call back and change our room to a pet friendly one as we had puppies and they were able to switch it around and sort out payments with no issue. The room was spacious, clean and had everything we needed after a long trip. (Bathroom, kitchen, beds and couches)
Was a lovely stay and really appreciated the good customer service. Would highly recommend!

Stayed in the King Suite Studio unit as it was dog friendly (and they had left a dog bed and a dog bowl) and it was fantastic - very large space with a divider between the living and bedroom space. A King bed and a single so great for us travelling with our daughter. Kitchen had a large fridge with food for breakfast (as we had included it in our booking) which was fairly basic continental but perfectly adequate. Car park (additional cost) was right outside the door. All in all, an amazing dog-friendly hotel room right in the middle of Wellington. Highly recommend.

We had 3 homely nights here as a grandparent with 3 kids in the family suite which comprises a large double room with TV and fridge, another bedroom with bunks and single bed and an en-suite bathroom. PJ the manager let us check in early which was a great welcome to Wellington. It’s only a few blocks from Courtenay St where the buses pass through and shops and cafes aplenty. In a quiet side street. The continental breakfast was terrific. No down-side to this hotel whatever and I don’t know how they do it for the price. Thank you.

Hi there, in the apartment we stayed in there was a washer and dryer both in the bathroom
We were there in November and had no problems parking on the street, on the same block as Gourmet Stay. It may be a bit different during busier times of the year. The owners were very nice, I'm sure you could give them a call and ask for them to share a sense of what it might be like when you are planning to visit.
