I had a hospital appointment at 0845, so living 3.5hours away we decided to get a motel room the night before. Nor wanting to get caught in the morning traffic we wanted something close to the hospital. Well the ascot motor lodge us straight across the road from the main entrance of the hospital. we stayed in room 1. The room was clean and spacious. The last at the desk was very friendly and helpful. When we checked out to go to the hospital, we were still able to leave our car at the motel. Will definitely use this motel again

The staff are lovely and incredibly helpful.
The rooms are nice enough. Clean and tidy.
Very handy to the hospital.
Some rooms are upstairs with an outdoor staircase. so if you not good with stairs best book a downstairs room. There was a few problems with keys not working but that got sorted.

We stayed here as we had an early hospital appointment and found it so convenient. The lady on Reception was helpful and friendly. The room and bathroom were very clean, comfortable and warm. Parking limited if you do not get there early. Could hear people in the next room.

People that I spoke with over the phone weren't very helpful 😒 On arrival which was around 8pm had to track down milk. On walking in the unit smelled of spices and didn't seem freshly cleaned. Upstairs bedroom carpet was soaking wet outside bathroom and up the side of the bed. And bathroom floor was sticky. Units don't look anything like the pictures on the website. Not worth $185 a night😕

Walls paper thin so quite noisey at times. Not very clean old sock and rubbish under beds. Unwelcoming staff member when booking in. WiFi required the purchase of vouchers to use. Lots of stairs to get luggage up.
On the good side. Comfortable beds. Older staff member friendly and helpful.
We messed up the booking and they waived the one night cost penalty which was much appreciated.
We stayed four nights. We wouldn’t like to stay there again.

We found this Motor Lodge to be professionally managed, very clean and well maintained. We received very friendly and helpful service. Quality towels changed daily.
Being right opposite the hospital was very helpful and off street parking was a bonus.
Double glazing kept any road noise to a minimum, it was quiet at night anyway.
We have tried other motels nearby before but this one beats them all by a long shot.
Highly recommended.
Supermarket and lots of dining options a short stroll away.

I stayed one night, attending a conference at University of Otago Wellington, right across the road. I had room #11, which was right at the back of the compound, away from the road.
The room was very clean, tidy, and quiet. I think this is one of the larger rooms, because it had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette.
It's very basic, but clean and comfortable. Highly recommended if you need to be close to the hospital.
There are also lots of cheap, excellent restaurants and cafes in very close walking distance. What's not to love?

Such a pleasant and helpful reception, and the room was spotlessly clean, neat and well equipped. The close proximity to Wellington hospital makes this an ideal place to stay. Just cross the road you’re at the hospital main entrance.

Lovely place to stay, really clean, beds very comfortable, reception welcoming. Great place to stay for access to the hospital. Parking which is perfect and they allowed us to park for a couple of hours after checkout whilst daughter going through chemotherapy. Will definitely be staying again.

We are on a main bus route, with several frequent buses going direct to the station/stadium from more or less outside. This takes 10-15 minutes. It takes about an hour to walk all the way (4.5km). Many thanks.
