We arrived at the hotel and was unsure to park. Very confusing. We waited for 10 minutes at reception and finally we went into the restaurant to get help. They found someone. Booked a superior King corner room. Lovely room. Well appointed, modern, clean, great bed, good TV - no faults at all. Very classy! We went out for dinner and as we left there was a woman at reception waiting for someone to tend to her check in. We told her to see the restaurant. We stayed an talked to her until the reception manager - a man this time - appeared. The following morning on check out, again, no one there. Really poor actually. Unprofessional.
Overall though, the room was tops and it was incredibly quiet so I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Wellington region as its value for money. Suggestions, maybe train staff better and finally, why do you refer to the river by a weird name and not the Hutt River as it is OFFICIALLY known? An attempt at woke rubbish I suspect however it comes across as rather rude and disrespectful.

Awesome to finally have a decent hotel in Lower Hutt.
The rooms are beautifully furnished but the couch is not very comfortable.
The biggest disappointment how we was the service. Ltd English at reception. Dining room shut early on two occasion. Car parking over subscribed despite us paying in advance for it.
The chair in our room was broken. I called at night to advise them and was told to come down in the morning and tell reception them when the maintenance man was on site. I asked if they could leave a message over night for him and was told no - best if I manage it myself.
The gym that comes with it is also 500 metres walk away rather than being able to use the gym right next door.

I’ve stayed here 4 homes now and the rooms are excellent and it’s a very central location.

The restaurant is a real let down and there are limited external choices, certainly not much in walking distance.

Evening meals are ok, pizza pasta etc but this morning, a Friday, there’s no cooked breakfast option. Nothing. A continental cold buffet is the only option. Your alternative is to walk down to the shopping mall and find something there.

Really? In a Sebel?

We stayed here for two nights and thought it was great. It’s a relatively new hotel and we were surprised to find that our room had a kitchen and cooking facilities. This does not seem to be a feature in many hotels nowadays. There was a great selection of different teas and a coffee pod machine. The water was hot and good pressure in the shower with an overhead sprinkler and shower hose combination. The bed was very comfortable and easy control of in room temperature. The staff, including the cleaning staff, were all very friendly. There is onsite parking for a fee but make sure you book this early as there does not appear to be many spaces for the size of the hotel. There is an on-site restaurant which served a great breakfast but were booked out for dinner. The hotel is well situated, walking distance to the big shopping plaza, supermarkets other restaurants and the riverside walkway. Everything was great and we would stay here again when we’re back in the region.

Im a long-standing Platinum member of Accor and have always chosen to stay at their properties during my travels. My usual choice in Wellington is the Sofitel and stay twice a month, but this time I decided to try the new Accor property in Lower Hutt as its location is better served for my work.

Before booking, I called the hotel in the early afternoon to confirm the availability of secure parking, given the nature of my work vehicle. I was assured that secure parking was available, with no mention of any limitations. I finalised my booking around 6pm that evening, after a grueling 9-hour drive from Auckland, and was the last one to make it through the Desert Road before it was closed due to snow.

Upon my arrival, I was met with a rude shock. The attendant, who was quite impolite, informed me that there was no parking available. Given the nature of my vehicle, secure parking was non-negotiable. To add insult to injury, I was told that despite the hotel's failure to provide the promised service, I would be charged the full price for the room since I had booked it 2.5 hours prior.

This experience has left me questioning my loyalty to Accor, especially considering a previous incident where over 108,000 points were deducted from my account without any explanation or subsequent confirmation of their return.

I strongly advise caution when considering this hotel. The staff were not only rude and unreasonable, but the hotel also seems to have a severe limitation in parking availability. This is a significant concern for those planning to drive to the property.

This is my third stay. I’m an Accor Plus Gold. Each time the service at reception is worse. Very poor customer focus. No Accor benefits, no welcome drink or discount at the restaurant, no upgrade’s. The restaurant service is hit and miss. My first two visits I was given a $20 voucher instead of welcome drinks. This time they refused. They said they would only offer to platinum customers. I said I was unlikely to return each month if a simple glass of wine wasn’t an option. He basically said I don’t care. I asked him to speak to his manager who confirmed they would not repeat the offer. The rooms are tasteful and the location is good so it’s very disappointing as a new regular customer to be treated with such a lack of care or respect. Be aware.

Looks good while squinting, until you turn on the bright lights - Terribly built and cheaply built, draws falling apart and would not close.

Paid for overnight parking, but all parks were taken. When I asked the front desk they told me people at the restaurant would park there without paying so I'd have to wait and move my car when a park became free. You have to display a ticket on your dash but no effort from the team was made to move the vehicles, so I had to move the large bins to find space to park my car.

Towels were nice and big though. So theres that.

I know this all sounds trivial, but when you travel away from home often for work, you want something that not only looks comfortable, but is comfortable.

10/10 would not stay again.

Lovely to stay in a new hotel. Our room had a small kitchen and a laundry, very useful for a longer stay. Room have nice decoration and the bed was very comfortable. Convenient for things in the Hutt. The choice of tea was a nice touch. The rooms were quiet and we had an excellent stay. A couple of points to note. No one measured the ironing board so it does not fit upright in the wardrobe, which means you have no where to put your bag. The torch is a great idea, for an emergency, but it did not have batteries. One bathrobe is not useful for two people. The welcome drink was a bit stingy compared to other Accor hotels which offer a choice from the bar. That being said these are minor things and we will stay again. So good to not have to stay right in Wellington to get a nice hotel.

Be aware this Hotel does not honour Accor benefits and fails to make you aware until you check in.It does not advertise the fact. Very suspect practice. We would not have made a reservation had we been made aware. No welcome drinks or dining benefits. We consequently did not stay the duration of our booking and would never stay at this Hotel again.
