We arrived at the hotel and was unsure to park. Very confusing. We waited for 10 minutes at reception and finally we went into the restaurant to get help. They found someone. Booked a superior King corner room. Lovely room. Well appointed, modern, clean, great bed, good TV - no faults at all. Very classy! We went out for dinner and as we left there was a woman at reception waiting for someone to tend to her check in. We told her to see the restaurant. We stayed an talked to her until the reception manager - a man this time - appeared. The following morning on check out, again, no one there. Really poor actually. Unprofessional. Overall though, the room was tops and it was incredibly quiet so I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Wellington region as its value for money. Suggestions, maybe train staff better and finally, why do you refer to the river by a weird name and not the Hutt River as it is OFFICIALLY known? An attempt at woke rubbish I suspect however it comes across as rather rude and disrespectful.

In so many ways a great hotel but for one thing - the perfume they put in the rooms is way way way too strong and migraine-inducing! The room is a great size, nice outlook, the attached restaurant is very good indeed. But oh, the smelll!

We stayed here for two nights and thought it was great. It’s a relatively new hotel and we were surprised to find that our room had a kitchen and cooking facilities. This does not seem to be a feature in many hotels nowadays. There was a great selection of different teas and a coffee pod machine. The water was hot and good pressure in the shower with an overhead sprinkler and shower hose combination. The bed was very comfortable and easy control of in room temperature. The staff, including the cleaning staff, were all very friendly. There is onsite parking for a fee but make sure you book this early as there does not appear to be many spaces for the size of the hotel. There is an on-site restaurant which served a great breakfast but were booked out for dinner. The hotel is well situated, walking distance to the big shopping plaza, supermarkets other restaurants and the riverside walkway. Everything was great and we would stay here again when we’re back in the region.

I stayed in a one-bedroom garden view suite with a kitchenette. The hotel is new and well-appointed. However, having no guest manual to provide instructions for the combined oven/microwave, the coffee pod machine, or even where to find the QR code for room service from the adjoining restaurant was frustrating. When I finally found this, on the bedroom wall, the link didn't work, so I could not view the menu or order any in-room dining for my three-day stay. There is no toaster provided in the kitchen and you apparently make toast in the oven - which I couldn't work, even after googling to find a manual. There is not much point in having high-tech appliances if guests can't use them. I did ask, several times at reception, about the menu and QR codes and while the staff were polite and friendly, I didn't get the issues resolved. The welcome card and letter were nice touches and it would help if these included where to find instructions for ordering food or using the appliances.

Looks good while squinting, until you turn on the bright lights - Terribly built and cheaply built, draws falling apart and would not close. Paid for overnight parking, but all parks were taken. When I asked the front desk they told me people at the restaurant would park there without paying so I'd have to wait and move my car when a park became free. You have to display a ticket on your dash but no effort from the team was made to move the vehicles, so I had to move the large bins to find space to park my car. Towels were nice and big though. So theres that. I know this all sounds trivial, but when you travel away from home often for work, you want something that not only looks comfortable, but is comfortable. 10/10 would not stay again.

Ten out of ten for the Sebel, Lower Hutt. Great location, friendly staff, beautiful rooms and facilities. Missed out on dining in the restaurant as they were fully booked, will make a note of this for next time to book ahead. However enjoyed our breakfast there, best pancakes I have ever had. Great coffee and very friendly young man who looked after us. Definitely will hope to stay there again.

Be aware this Hotel does not honour Accor benefits and fails to make you aware until you check in.It does not advertise the fact. Very suspect practice. We would not have made a reservation had we been made aware. No welcome drinks or dining benefits. We consequently did not stay the duration of our booking and would never stay at this Hotel again.

Lovely to stay in a new hotel. Our room had a small kitchen and a laundry, very useful for a longer stay. Room have nice decoration and the bed was very comfortable. Convenient for things in the Hutt. The choice of tea was a nice touch. The rooms were quiet and we had an excellent stay. A couple of points to note. No one measured the ironing board so it does not fit upright in the wardrobe, which means you have no where to put your bag. The torch is a great idea, for an emergency, but it did not have batteries. One bathrobe is not useful for two people. The welcome drink was a bit stingy compared to other Accor hotels which offer a choice from the bar. That being said these are minor things and we will stay again. So good to not have to stay right in Wellington to get a nice hotel.
