Had a lovely stay at Ohtel Wellington. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We even got a room upgrade and bottle of wine for our 10th anniversary! Very nice touch. The room was huge and clean with a great view. The hotel is in a perfect location, felt safe and clean and walkable to almost everywhere. Would highly recommend staying here over the high rise spots in the downtown area.

We stayed here in November 2023 for the first few days of our honeymoon, and it was the perfect start! The lovely staff welcomed us with a fruit platter, wine and chocolates to celebrate and upgraded our room. The suite was stunning. A free standing bath, views of Wellington, and gorgeous mid century furniture. The bed was super comfy, toiletries and tea/coffee provided was all very thoughtful (fairtrade tea and compostable mini toiletries). His and hers sinks, a mini balcony and lots more. We can’t recommend Ohtel enough. Thank you to the lovely team for making our stay so great!

Great little hotel with excellent facilities and friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable and stylish room which is just a bit quirky and different to your average formulaic hotel room. Super smooth sheets and lovely toiletries. Breakfast in the cafe downstairs was delicious and again had more flair than the normal standard hotel breakfasts. Will definitely choose Ohtel again in the future.

This hotel was a highlight of a wonderful vacation. The hotel is so efficient and a little quirky in style but a few key factors were Kay and her colleague at the front desk that took such great care of us, Kay made us our coffee each day and answered our many questions and with a wonderful cheerful attitude. The young man at the reception took bags took our room upon check in which was so unexpected but beyond expectation, we will come back, our room in the front was so spacious and the bed amazing!!

I could move in to this hotel quite easily! From the welcome lemonade, to the view, from the pillow menu, to the thoughtful selection of magazines, this hotel is new one of my worldwide favorite. As a winter sea dipper, I need a great shower and this was the best. A really comforting touch in this day and age was the in-room survival kit. A fabulous touch of luxury on Oriental Parade.

Great place for a,couple and their dog.....had a good night's sleep bed was comfortable and the service was excellent from booking to check out. Central location. Room on ground floor so easy to take doggy out as he needed.

The location was great but the attention to detail poor. We were told there would be foood available but when we went to order breakfast we’re told the chef was not in. They knew this before we checked in but did not tell us. Not a lot of choice for cafes so it was inconvenient. The record player had to be fixed and the body wash was empty.

Unfortunately, our chef fell ill and was unable to attend her scheduled shift on Saturday 01/07/23. Regrettably, we only received this information on Saturday morning, which prevented us from notifying you during your check-in on Friday. Thank you for letting us know about the record player and body wash issues during your stay. We addressed the issue on the same day. However, we apologize for the inconvenience and will retrain our team to be more thorough in checking these items. We stayed at the Ohtel on the first leg of a trip around NZ. It's super easy to access the hotel from the Airport Express bus (get off at Courtenay Place, walk a few blocks) and then you can walk anywhere where you might want to go in the City Center. It's steps from Te Papa and access to many great dining options. The rooms are very quiet and the cafe provides a delicious breakfast and many baked goods for guests. The only "con" is that the bathroom is a glassed off section of the room (you can use a curtain for extra privacy), but some may prefer more privacy. Note, it's worth taking an Uber or Taxi to or from the Interslander Ferry Terminal because it's a considerable distance.
