The room was very clean. If you need to go to the hospital next door, that's a great choice for accommodation. Or even when accompanying someone who's hospitalized, one could stay here. It's actually inside the same compound as a couple of clinics and across the road from Tauranga hospital.
They also have a room for disabled people which is great for those who might need it.
We were just surprised when we got into the room because the toilet had no lid for example and the sink in the room was very low.
That's only when I went to ask at reception that they told me they had put us in a room for disabled people. It was ok for 1 night though.
The location of the motel is good, there are plenty of restaurants nearby.

We needed somewhere close to the hospital, and this is the nearest. It's a bonus that it's comfortable, spotlessly clean, and has very welcoming staff. We asked for a ground floor room - no problem to them! The room has air-con/heat pump, and on the coldest night of the year (so far) we were plenty warm enough.
The bathroom is big enough to be pleasant, so is the shower cubicle which has excellent water flow.
The only thing that we would have appreciated is a comfy chair or two. Like most motels, one sits either on the dining chairs or on the beds.

We stayed for one night as it was very close to an appointment the next day.
Tony and Tina were excellent, totally accommodating! Allowing us an early check-in and to leave our vehicle parked there the next morning.
Our Room was Immaculately clean! Very tastefully set up with comfy furniture and fittings
Air conditioning in Kitchen/Lounge area and in the bedroom, with two T.Vs both with full Sky TV!
The Bed would have to one of the best we've slept in on our travels.
The bathroom was well set up with great water pressure!
Our unit was nice and quiet even tho you are on busy Cameron road, which means you are close to everything Tauranga has to offer.

The motel’s address is on a major road but the motel is actually set behind some other buildings, so it was quiet at night. Our standard studio double room was modern but a little small and included wardrobe, kitchenette, small desk and one lounge chair. The bed was comfortable and there was a pillow menu to choose from. It had a good air conditioner and large TV with sky channels. The bathroom was compact but functional. Overall would recommend.

Hi Hunstow, Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We do want to say that the "standard studio with double bed you stayed in is only available to book for single occupancy, as we agree it is a little cramped for a couple. It is a comfortable and economical choice for 1 guest, but it is substantially smaller than any of our other units. We wish you and your partner could have experienced any of our other units and look forward to hosting you both in another room in the future.

We stayed at 850 Cameron Motel for 8 nights while we were new to town for work and waiting to move into our house. We could not recommend this motel enough! We had a super spacious one bedroom apartment which had plenty of room for our toddler and found the kitchen well equipped to make proper meals. The room was also spotless and the service each day was fantastic. The owners were also lovely, super helpful and genuinely wanted to make our stay the best it could be. Also with it being so close to the hospital, would absolutely recommend to people needing accomodation close by whether it is for work or medical treatment.

My partner and I spent 5 nights at 850 Cameron over the New Year break and Tina and Tony couldn't have been more accommodating! We were warmly welcomed by Tina who checked us into our room with some fresh milk! As soon as we walked into our room we were so impressed - it was clean, fresh, modern and beautiful. We had a beautiful Mohair blanket to snuggle with, my partner enjoys the air con on 24/7 while I prefer being hot LOL! The bathroom essentials were gorgeous Matakana Botanicals hand wash, body wash, shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom was modern and shower was big. I loved the (almost) full kitchen - only thing missing was a small oven but we made do! This motel is worth your money, better than many 5 star HOTELs that we have stayed in. Love love love! Would recommend to anybody going to Tauranga. - Victoria & Austin :)

Amazing hotel and facilities. The owners went above and beyond all my expectations to make my stay as comfortable as possible at a very stressful time. Have recommended them to all our friends. The facilities were immaculate and very comfortable. No request was too much. Would recommend to anyone looking for accommodation in Tauranga...the Best!

If you want to do a bit of ParkRun tourism then you will be looking for a place to stay that is convenient and helpful. And if you want to do the excellent Tauranga ParkRun then this is the place for you.
The team were really helpful to someone who turned up missing significant bits of luggage, and the motel itself is great.
I had an accessible room, which was very well appointed and comfortable.

This place is clean and quiet located near the hospital in this small city. You would need a car to get to the local sites, restaurants, beach, etc. The beds, air con and shower/ bathroom were excellent. Hotel staff were nice and helpful. Parking is close to your room.

From the friendly and informative welcome of James yo the generously proportioned rooms, we cannot fault this accomodation.. Immaculately clean, housekeeping you do an amazing job! Modern TV system allows you to fed Netflix from your I phone, spa bath with bath salts and plush linen and bedding.. especially enjoyed quack the rubber duck!

Tauranga city is surrounded by a beautiful harbour with many seaside options;
A seaside path through regenerating wetlands with a picturesque outlook over the harbour is 5 minutes’ walk from 850 Cameron Motel.
A nice park with safe swimming at high tide which is great for children is 5 minutes’ drive from 850 Cameron Motel.
A golden sand surf beach (Mt Manganui beach) is 18 minutes’ drive from 850 Cameron Motel.

There is a very good bus service to town.
Both bus routes 1 and 2 stop within 100 meters of 850 Cameron Motel and follow a loop through the CBD out to the famous Mount Manganui beach and back.
On weekdays buses start at 5:53 in the morning and run about every 15 minutes with the last bus arriving at 850 Cameron motel at 9:35 in the evening
On weekends they start at 6:40 in the morning and run about every 1/2 hour with the last bus arriving at 850 Cameron motel at 6:48 in the evening.
A single journey is $3.20 but buying a day-pass or "smartride" pass can reduce the price substantially.
