This was our 2nd weekend stay with the Trinity Wharf Tauranga and from the moment we checked in until we left we were treated with respect and had absolutely outstanding service.
The hotel is located conveniently in central Tauranga but also just off the expressway and with easy road access to the mount.
The room we had was lovely and extremely clean and the cookies and water bottles were much appreciated, the king sized bed was very comfortable and the rooms were very tastefully decorated and we had great harbour views and the shower had great pressure and the towels and linen provided are of a very high standard!!!
The pool was very refreshing and I enjoyed using the gym.
Many great views from the rooms and communal areas in the hotel.
Parking easy and room service was good and I enjoyed several meals from the kitchen and the meals were all well presented and a good temperature with excellent well polished cutlery and shining white crockery and sparkling glassware.

The lounge bar was great for a casual drink and we enjoyed it both nights of our stay to have a casual bite to eat and glass of wine.
The buffet breakfast is exactly what I wanted and enjoyed fresh pastries and fruits, cold meats and a good selection of hot food as well as cereals and yogurts with a nice selection of accompaniments.
“Total value for for money”

I ordered fine crafted espresso coffee on two different days and it was flawless on both occasions.
We are looking forward to making our trip to the trinity wharf a annual event as we have come away feeling refreshed and relaxed.
I would like to make special mention to DJay who was extremely professional and made us feel welcome and we would like to commend him and the team in food and beverage for outstanding and consistent service!
We also felt Michelle on the front desk added a real sparkle to the atmosphere in the hotel.
Thank you to all the team, both front of house and back of house!
You all worked very well together on a busy weekend!
A real hotel experience with a excellent professional team who made us feel comfortable and relaxed.

What a misleading photo on the booking sites! We booked this hotel because it looked like it had a nice swimming pool overlooking the marina and we wanted a couple of days with a lovely outdoor space to chill after a couple of weeks of traveling around the country. This pool was in fact tiny, overlooked by the windows of a conference room with space for just one sunbed and no shade! There was nowhere to sit outside and enjoy the view.

The hotel is fairly new but decorated in white and grey and soul-less. It feels like a business hotel. Our superior room was quite well equipped but overlooked the car park and bins and wasn't very thoughtfully designed. The mirror was inside the wardrobe door that was next to and faced out of the window so you couldn't use it. The room was quite dark, although we were on the top, as it was shadowed by large trees outside. There were four separate light switches dotted around the room to turn on various lights. The bathroom was large but the shower door leaked so the floor was flooded every time we used it.

Breakfast was served in a lovely light dining room overlooking the water and was extensive but bland. The coffee was bitter and the staff were unhappy when we opened a window when the air conditioning was on, even though the sun was streaming through the floor to ceiling windows and it was really boiling inside.

Also, there really is nothing in Tauranga if you're on holiday. The nice beach and all of the good restaurants are in Mount Maunganui, which involves getting in the car every evening.

On the front within walking distance of a number of restaurants, the Trinity Wharf is a modern hotel with well appointed bedroom/bathrooms. It appeared that all the rooms had a balcony but only the more expensive rooms had a view over the water. It has a small infinity pool with towels provided for guests. We had dinner in the restaurant on one evening. Initial attention was quick but service thereafter was quite slow even though there were only two other tables occupied. Reception were extremely helpful and dealt with any queries in a friendly and professional way. Overall,we enjoyed our stay.

I booked for Urban Balcony Premium room for one night.
The room are clean, spacious & relatively modern. It has a partial view to the water from the balcony. Unfortunately, my room (Room 102) have to share the balcony with the restaurant’s area despite the word “Balcony” and the word “Premium” on the description and not private at all.
I can see the 3 rooms next to us are having their own balcony so I guess it’s our luck being given the worst Urban Balcony Premium room.
My suggestion is to ask for 2nd or 3rd floor when making a booking on the request box, and if you’re given room 102, you better ask for another room.

Staff here was underwhelming to say the least. The only time ANYONE actually smiled at me during our 3 day stay was when I dropped the keys off at front desk for express check out. Granted our stay was over Christmas and there might be reluctant workers, but we all know that's not an excuse.

The worse was one of the wait staff in the restaurant - slight build, light hair, goatee. This guy was incredible, not just unhelpful but disrespectful and downright rude to multiple guests in our party in separate interactions. We had just arrived NZ, just arrived at the hotel on Christmas Eve, and needed to grab a late lunch. This poor guy who might've been having a really bad day (or is just the worse hospitality worker I've ever encountered) set our two week visit to NZ off to a bad start.

Regarding room type: "garden" view actually means "parking lot". Rooms were clean but slightly tired - could use some light refurbishments to feel newer.

Plenty of parking, location is minutes drive from town, also walkable.

For food, highly recommend Hello Banh Mi (small, authentic Vietnamese place with very friendly staff). CBK is also very good for families with young kids (has a small play area).

Our 2nd time staying here the best part we love about this establishment is the beautiful view we have from our room & the comfy bed.
One would think the amount of money you pay for the room we asked for (Harbour Deluxe Spa) they could supply decent quality tea, coffee, sugar & at least fresh milk not the little plastic things.
Restaurant meals were lovely but so overpriced. Some staff were also nice especially the dude with the twirly moustache (sorry forgot his name) he was awesome.
Would we stay here again & reccomend to others??? Hmmmm not sure...
Beautiful weather Tauranga & great airshow display.

Stayed for five nights in a spacious, clean, harbour-view room with a balcony over the Christmas period in this lovely hotel. After a long flight to NZ, we appreciated a very warm welcome by reception staff. As we arrived a bit early, our room was not ready, but we checked in easily, our luggage was stored and we were invited to use the facilities whilst we waited a short while; getting our room ready was expedited and we were in within a short time. Our room (125) had good privacy and stunning views of the harbour; we enjoyed sitting on the balcony especially in the evenings as the sun set.

The hotel had a calm and relaxing ambience even though it was busy at times. We found the staff friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Particular mention must go to staff in the restaurant who greeted us happily at breakfast each morning and at other times; they catered for our needs readily and with a smile. They showed true professionalism and are an asset to the hotel, as are all the many staff we met during our stay.

Food was delicious and well presented. There was a good choice of options on the menus, including at the buffet breakfast. The harbour views and available outdoor seating made for a relaxed dinning experience.

The location of this hotel, an easy walk to the beach, restaurants and other amenities in the town is great! Buses run regularly to town with the stop only a short distance away.

We would certainly stay at the hotel again when we next visit Tauranga and would recommend to friends and family. Thanks team for a memorable time!

I’d booked Trinity Wharf for my partner and I for a Christmas Day treat hotel given that we were just the two of us and far away from friends and family. Unfortunately our stay was a bit of a disaster. Upon our arrival we were told that we wouldn’t be able to eat in the restaurant because they’d opened it up to the public on Christmas Day. There was no prior warning at all and of course nowhere else open, therefore our only option was to eat in our room. After having to celebrate Christmas in our room eating off the bed, we were charged a delivery fee to bring the food to our room, which was a bit of a kick in the teeth!

The room was nice and spacious enough but the pool is particularly overplayed in the photos.

The ‘fitness centre’ was a draw for us and one of the reasons I’d booked the hotel. We decided to go and train after dinnergate to find a carpeted meeting room with 2 non-functioning treadmills, a rower that looked like it was from the 1920s and a broken bodyweight machine. It was completely unusable.

All that said, I did receive an email (and a refund of the room service fee) the following day apologising for our experience and offering an upgrade on our next visit (which isn’t particularly useful when you live in the UK).

Easter weekend 2021 and we had to cut short our stay at a falsely advertised bed and breakfast at Te Puna, Tauranga. We hastily try to save our break away from the kids and Booking.com tells us that all accommodation is booked out in Tauranga at such short notice!!! So, we call Trinity Wharf and received such great service over the phone and in person. They were able to accommodate us via a cancellation and were able to make the room available quickly. The reception and restaurant staff were very helpful and always had a smile. The dinner at the restaurant was top quality (the eye fillet was cooked as asked for - medium), The facilities were excellent, clean and if we had more money, could have had a room sitting over the Taurange harbour (we had a room with a peep view which we were happy with). THank you for saving our wedding anniversary weekend!

We stayed here for two nights in May 2021.

The hotel is located a pleasant 5-10-minute walk from the main shopping area in Tauranga. It is on a main road but we never experienced any noise.

There is a huge parking area, although there was a conference going on and the carpark was almost full.

Our room was comfortable and the heat pump kept it nice and warm. The bathroom was huge.

The breakfast buffet was good/average. We considered the restaurant for dinner, although we did not eat there as there was not a wide choice on the menu and the prices were expensive. We ordered some bar snacks which came in huge portion sizes.

We will consider staying here the next time we're in Tauranga.
