Booked 3 nights at Hotel on Devonport. Arrived and check in was quick and we were given instructions for the hotel parking which is $10/night, is easy and convenient. Booked a deluxe king bedded room that was spacious with a love seat, desk and king bed. The closets were very spacious with a built in mini bar, drawers with dishes, kettle and toaster. Having breakfast in the room with our own supplies was easy. The bathroom was a good size with a separate shower. The amenities were nice, there were complimentary slippers, bathrobes for use, towels were fluffy and I love it when there is a coloured cloth for makeup removal. The complimentary apples in the foyer were an appreciated and nice touch. The only challenge was the ventilation system in the room. The air conditioning temperature was difficult to set – the room temperature would not be what was set for the unit but a couple degrees different. An easy walk in the central area of Tauranga but a close drive to Mount Maunganui. The wi fi signal was good, location was good and overall enjoyed our stay.

The rooms and beds are comfortable, with good bathroom and facilities. Good size balconies give views over Tauranga, Mt Mauganui and the harbour if you're lucky. Parking (accessed from the rear of the building) is very good and secure. As an apartment this is excellent.

If you're expecting a hotel, you may be disappointed; this is a block of serviced apartments, with no lounge or eating facilities. Breakfast can be brought to the room, but you may be better going to the local cafe.

Although it is well situated for Tauranga, most of the restaurants are in Maunganui.

On arrival the fridge contained broken glass.

Stayed with my mother in a Exec King Room with twin beds. It's a good quality, apartment style hotel. The room was really spacious, comfortable beds, a spa bath, and thoughtful provisions such as coffee press, make up wipes and drinking water.
Was disappointed to be informed at check-in that parking was not included, and charged at $10/day.
Something to note is that the surrounding area, and Tauranga in general has an huge amount of construction underway, this didn't disturb our stay, however it means there are lots of building activity, traffic cones and many retail shops not open. If you are travelling for a short stay or business this hotel is great. If you are after a relaxing holiday or longer stay, suggest staying over the bridge at Mt Maunganui.

We spent three nights at the hotel in a harbour view room. Clean modern feel to the hotel. Easy check in and car parking. Located within easy walk to many excellent restaurants . There are no public rooms. Food is provided by room service and because the food is cooked on the same floor, the passage and sometimes the room has a heavy food smell. Our bed was very comfortable.

View across harbour is lovely but it is across the freight railway line from the port. Heavy rail traffic passes by intermittently with great noise. Hotel has solid double glazing and this helps but the intermittent noise wakes you up. Earliest train was at 5.30 am. We did not use the balcony because of a cold wind but in summer the train noise would make it very difficult.

More easily fixed is the internet. Very slow, far too slow for video conversations, and periodically dropping out. Tauranga advertises that as a city it has ultra fast broadband. That the hotel has third world internet is unforgivable.

Having stayed here on our honeymoon 7 years ago and enjoyed it we thought we would round off our Easter stay in Tauranga with an upgrade to Hotel on Davemport- we booked a night in a harbour view room one of their pricier options. Well it was on the 5th floor opposite the train track where several trains went by 10- midnight. We were right next to the restaurant so bang crash from 7am on and the above room used the spa 10pm-11pm and throughout the night there were 'clunking' sounds..
Very well appointed room lovely comfortable bed but we explained we are looking forward to a night of luxury so should have been informed that a room on a higher floor may have been more restful. Hence we left every tired and disappointed. We will return to a higher floor one day just need the staff to "think" when booking people in on a Monday night where there are plenty of good quiet options. At $270 a night not cheap so we feel it ruined our holiday.

We stayed here for 4 nights in one of the wheelchair accessible rooms and apart from the first night (fire alarm went off at 4:30 in the morning, and we had to be evacuated out onto the main road, thankfully it was a false alarm) we had a comfortable stay here. The hotel has a covered secure car park which normally cost $10 per day, but we got this included in our room rate as a promotion when booking online, the hotel is in a good location, not far from some nice restaurants and pubs. There is a lovely cafe a few doors down from the hotel where we had breakfast on every morning of our stay called the Mediterraneo Cafe.

Our main concern was the location of the wheelchair accessible. Bedroom was on the top floor of the hotel and furthest away from the stairs and Lift, there was no evacuation procedure. Discussed on checking in with regard to wheelchair assistance. If there had been a real fire, then we would’ve stood no chance of getting out.

Stayed here one night on a work trip. At first I thought "wow"- friendly check in, got a welcome drink offered and parking (once you find it- it's at the back of the building) conveniently just off reception. Room also looked super spacious and clean at first but unfortunately, the property lacks where it matters most: The bed. The mattress felt super soft and floppy and was totally worn out which made it really hard to sleep. Other amenities were fine but shower just one of those simple old fashioned shower cabins rather than a nice walk in rain shower or anything like that. No views at all either but at least a functioning air con unit which isn't a given in New Zealand. All in all I found the rate of $250 a night a total rip off for what was offered, in many more civilized places you'd get a Hyatt or Hilton for that amount of money. Luckily, my work place paid bu I certainly wouldn't come back if I had to pay myself.

We stayed in an Executive Room as all the Family Rooms were booked. The hotel said they would put in a rollaway bed for our 8 year old but it was a proper single bed. Ours was a superking so that says something about the size of the room! It was very spacious with a couch and a desk as well. The bathroom was huge with a large shower and a spa bath. The balcony was also spacious with seating. The decor was modern and fresh.
The hotel is easy walking distance to numerous cafes and restaurants and a ten minute drive to the Mount. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We got the Staycation package which included free secure underground parking and free cooked breakfast each morning. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant so the food is delivered in-room on well organized trays. The food was hot and very good. There is a mini kitchen in the room, and good tea and coffee making facilities.
We couldn't fault our stay and would definitely return.

This place gets five stars without hesitation because they’ve got it.
During a nightmare work stint at a Queenstown hotel in 1990 I nevertheless gained crucial advice from the Australian food and beverage manager as regards client complaints – you don’t take it personally, you take it professionally. Find a solution and you win.
Fast forward to October 2020 and a weekend at this hotel for our anniversary and a birthday. We chose this place as it looked the best around and they were happy to work with us. We accepted a deal of swapping between their best room and their next best room. We never found out until we were there about the train track outside their best room but that doesn’t matter given what happened – I only mention that for context.
We had to lose that noise – the glazing wasn’t enough. We shouldn’t have had a show of moving because the hotel was fully booked but there are those who will help you regardless – Fraser and Claire on the front desk.
I don't know what he did but Fraser heard us out and, without batting an eyelid, he showed us a room three floors higher on the other side, shifted us there and then offered a complimentary breakfast for the next morning. We wouldn’t have to shift again. Later on he called us to say the room was ready and had our luggage put there.
We would ask for this room next time.
Claire checked us in and out and looked after us in other ways. Not a problem. Very well presented and happy to help.
This was the height of service and professionalism in a quiet, understated manner – probably what you’d find in the heart of London. I don’t know how they find or train their staff but what we saw was first class. Because the room was suddenly right so was everything else.
All the staff were very good but these two made it happen for us. I myself own a tourism business but I learned things here. Most interesting.
Five stars.
Very bloody well done and thank you.

Excellent location, walkable to restaurants and shopping. Staff were welcoming on arrival with a complimentary drink and snack.
The room was modern, spacious, clean and comfortable complete with spa bath.
A 15 min car park is available in front of the hotel if you are driving and want to do a quick check in and drop before heading back out. Otherwise parking on the street is timed and depending on the time of day attracts a fee. Parking is available via the hotel if you are parked up for the night.
