Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutley an amazing venue to host an event. Ours was a wedding. Beautiful views and great for photos. Good food menu to choose from. The lodge is amazing. Our bridal party stayed the night of the wedding. Would make for an excellent weekend away stay. Luxury. More than happy to reccomend Eagle Ridge lodge.

The views are fantastic, the gardens beautiful. However, we stayed a night at a cost of $450 and at this price it was very disappointing! The rooms are all in a big house (which wasn’t clear from the write up), so our room was off the communal lounge and kitchen, and right next to the front door. No privacy at all. Every time anyone entered the house, we could hear their footsteps. The room had just a bed with pretty linen. No table to put things on, no writing desk... The bathroom had a big bath, but shower had blocked holes, so sprayed unevenly all over. The dustbin was rusted. The toilet made a noise the entire night. The bathroom looks grand, but not functional. Basin small with no where to put vanity bags. Soaps were refilled previously used bottles... not very luxurious at all! The breakfast was extremely disappointing. Literally cereals (coco pops, special K etc), 2 loaves of bread with a toaster with jam and peanut butter, a can of tin fruit and yoghurt! For $450/ night, we were horrified! We would have at least expected hot croissants, gourmet breads, homemade gourmet muesli, assortment of cheeses etc. I must acknowledge the staff though, who were friendly and accommodating. Overall a very disappointing stay.

We used this venue for a corporate function and it proved to be ideal. Beautiful gardens and scenic views towards Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. Facilities would cater for a wide variety of functions such as weddings and celebrations. Dinner at the Lodge was very good but the menu was limited (not a criticism). Service was very good and staff were helpful. The only draw back is the distance from Tauranga central but that is compensated for by the venue quality.

I simply cannot fault anything about this Beautiful place with a warm, yet refined atmosphere. The quiet was soul soothing. Views from the lovely spacious bath are to die for and the 4 poster beds luxurious and comfortable. We even enjoyed tinkling the ivories on the beautiful antique piano and a game or two of pool. The hosts were delightfully warm offering friendship whilst respecting our space..

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Nigel and Deb's lodge and they make you feel so welcome and obviously have great passion for their wonderful property and making special celebrations the best they possibly can for customers. The lodge is quite beautiful but not ostentatious enough so you can't relax and just enjoy the wonderful surroundings and views. We spent the late afternoon in front of one of the huge fireplaces on comfy couches enjoying a wine and tasty nibbles platter. The meals were exceptionally good and beautifully presented. A tour the next morning of the property including the function centre which is simply stunning, just showed how amazing Eagle Ridge is - private, classy, beautiful and with the best hosts and staff you could wish for. It's only about 10 minutes up into the rolling countryside from Ohauti, yet you feel you are on top of the world with the magnificent views. This is a must see for any wedding couple or in fact, any celebration or corporate event. Well done to owners and staff. Simply the best!
