What drew us to this motel was the thought of jumping into a hot pool everyday. Unfortunately the pool was out of order our entire stay.

Still glad we stayed though. It's a nice, quite, clean motel. Management are helpful and accommodating and the housekeeping does an excellent job.

Great range of TV channels and everything you need need if you like to cook in the kitchenette.

Fraser Cove shopping centre is across the road with late night shopping available. Can also walk down to the water.

Everything you need is close by.

Thanks for a pleasant stay.

We Stayed at 18th Ave Thermal Motel for 2 nights. Room was spacious with everything we needed. Room was clean and serviced daily which is rare these days. Large fan available, good shower water pressure and free Wi Fi.
Enjoyed large indoor mineral pool that closed 8pm. would have preferred open later maybe 10pm. Handy location close to Fraser Cove Shopping Centre.
Staff very welcoming and helpful.
Will stay again

I booked the night before for $120, this was for a studio unit.

It was quiet, clean and comfortable. Nothing to fancy. The Sky TV was nice.
The shower gave good hot water pressure and there was plenty of towels.

I didn't use the spa, as it was too hott.

Will be back if I need it.

This place is vastly over-priced. The rooms are standard and, in fact, made of poor construction. The chipped paint on the thin and poorly made squeaky doors complemented the burnt hole from a cigarette in a couch that showed its age. The cheap toilette tells it all, but I can add: the two sets of faucets (kitchen and bathroom) are separate, and thus it proved difficult for two of us when we wanted tepid or, in fact, warm running water. A good example: when one shaves.

There is no difference between what you get here than in any other 'standard' motel that I have stayed in at Tauranga — just the inflated price — and I have been doing so for ca 2X/year since 2011.

I have taken photos.

NB: roughly around 6 pm the reception appeared closed. The norm in Auckland, which can be used as a base model for comparison to this place, is roughly from ca 7 am till 9 pm, every day. I can provide empirical data.

Tired old motel. Furniture and carpet was covered in stains. Checked in, but checked out again a few mins later. Was charged for two day stay despite the condition of the unit. Very basic set up. Disappointing stay.

Last minute holiday and this was available so we booked. Took a studio unit and it was really lovely for us - two adults and a teenager. Had everything we needed - fantastic fan supplied to help us keep cool too. Comfy beds and great tv with ALL the Sky channels. Nicely maintained room with lovely gardens as well :). Location was fine - not noisy and not out of the way. Thanks for having us.

Stayed with my two kids (under 5yrs old). Was good being across from the trampoline and swings to keep them entertained. We had a one bedroom unit and it had everything we needed. Nothing fancy but did the job and reasonably priced. Hot pool was nice to relax in.

Very handy location to where we needed to be. Shopping centre just down the road which had option of take aways as well as a supermarket.

Clean and tidy rooms though bit of a mix up when we arrived as we were supposed to have a 2 bedroom apartment but were given a one but the lady at reception happily moved us with no issues. Very friendly and helpful.

Nice hot pool to have a soak in before bed.

Would stay again when in the area.

What more do I need to say? Wife and my toddler got bitten by bed bugs.

Place quite run down. Cobwebs in the bathroom. Beds are squishy and uncomfortable.

Thermal pool is nice for a soak but also a bit run down.

We always try to find a place away from a main road or a corner and after a recent experience with creaking floors from an upstairs unit, we now look for a single storey motel. Usually this results in an older style motel but usually the motels are privately owned and managed with on site hosts. So it is in this case. A delightful friendly couple who ar every helpful and concerned with their guests comfort. Very reasonably priced too. We had a one bedroom self contained unit, with a king bed and two single beds. The kitchen needs a good update with an old fashioned cooker and an awkward layout, but an e tra large refridgerator makes up for this. There is an indoor thermal pool which on first glance looks a bit dark and dank, but the water is lovely and I am writing this having been to so many onsen in Japan and other countries. The water is about 40 degrees and is crystal clear and leaves a lovely soft slippery feel on your skin. Swimsuits of course which meant that my husband and I could hop in together unlike in Japan. We so enjoyed ourselves in this motel and lovely town that we stayed an extra day.
