We only had one night there which was fine, but I wouldn't want to spend too many nights here. The room was very clean and comfortable. The price was okay for what it was. A bit far out to walk to the town and restaurants. But it was only a short drive to a very nice Thai restaurant.

I am a sales rep home 1 weekend a month so to say I understand accommodation is quite true.
I don't write reviews about every place I stay, Only the ones who made an impact, having RA as an illness. Warm room, great shower and quiet is the most important things for me.

I arrived late afternoon this motel was the cheapest I could find and having the same name as me I thought awesome!!!
The hosts were just looking after the property for the owners while they took a holiday. They were absolutely lovely, the husband walked me down to my room and turned the electric blankets on a nice touch. They upgraded my room to no 12
Single level property.
Older style like an apartment sep kitchen, bathroom and toilet had its own door.
King size bed well made with a single as well, small floor heater and a 50 inch TV
50 sky channels and unlimited free wifi.
As I say it's older style but that doesn't matter. Fantastic sleep. Hot shower. Warm toasty room. In the morning at checkout they all greeted me even though they were busy and they stopped to make sure I was happy.
I have bookmarked this motel and will only stay here in Tauranga.
Make sure you ask for Room 12 and tell them it's because of this review they deserve it , oh they have a heated pool and spa as well. Room 12 has biggest bed and biggest TV
Please give me a thumbs up for review because they deserve to be at the top of the list!!!

This motel looks better on line than it actually is. It is tired but it looks as though there could be something of a makeover on the way. Our unit - a king unit - had a very comfortable bed with good pillows. No comfortable chairs to sit on. Only two uncomfortable chairs and no way to position them to watch TV. So TV watching from the bed only. Bathroom had been renovated, good size shower etc. Very limited toiletries. Kitchen a joke. A two element hotplate and a very old microwave along with kettle and somewhat useless toaster. If your toast slice is bigger than say a Molenberg slice then part of your bread will remain untoasted. Search for the hairdryer; it is there on a shelf behind towels in bathroom. Basic stay. Won't stay here again.

Although it seems to accommodate for children (small playing ground with a trampoline and plenty of good floating stuff in the pool like an inflatable crocodile), the owners really seem to have an issue with kids. Our 5 year old boy enjoyed the pool and was of course, like almost kid in water, over expressing his joy and contentment. We were told that he was too noisy and that if he kept behaving in that way, we would have to leave. Later, our door was blocked (derailed) and they accused him of pushing it too hard.
Morality: forget the place if your kid(s) is(are) not deaf and mute…

If you look 25 years or younger I warn you not to stay here. My partner, two of our friends and myself, booked in for two nights. We were constantly watched and had almost zero privacy. From the moment we set foot on the motel grounds I felt as if I was doing something criminal, constantly warned that this was a "family motel" they would walk up to the room at the sight of a cigarette as if it were the means to start a party. Very uncomfortable stay. The photos shown are also very outdated.

I made a booking in early October for the dates of 29th Decemeber to the 3rd of January 2015, and they sent me the conformation email with the wrong dates (29th November - 3rd December). When i realized the dates were wrong i rang up and got them changed to the right dates and made sure everything was booked to how i wanted it and the lady i spoke to on the phone sent me the conformation email for the right dates. A week ago (more than a month and a half after i had booked) i got and email saying there were no rooms available anymore. I rang up and asked why, they said they dont allow young people at their motel. I asked why they had not told me this when i first booked as the rule about no young people had never been mentioned before, i had told them my age and the ages of my friends when i rang up to book the room and they had no problem with the age at all, and why the left it 3 weeks to tell us before our arrival at their motel, they could not give me a straight answer except for no young people aloud. This is discrimination, i sent them the conformation email i got and they did not reply to any of my emails about why this is unfair. I will never be booking this motel again and will not be recommending it to anyone. Also i know alot of young people going up there for those dates and they have not been kicked out of their room so i don't see why i have.

We came in during the night, and they didn't put an extra bed in like promised. We slept okay, not enough blankets given. We had to wait until the next day to ask. My brother and I were in the pool and my mum got told off by the wife for having too much people in the room but we got told this was okay. My mum was so upset. My brother and I then got told off for playing with the swimming noodles in the pool. My mum got asked to pay up when she got told, even though my dad was paying technically through his work and he wasn't there. We decided to go out and walk into town, it's far to walk. Also, when me and my brother used the towels in the room (from the night we came) my parents went up and asked for more towels and they said we only get one per person per day and wouldn't give us more, until my dad told them that this day was a different day. The cleaners cleaned other rooms but didn't ask to clean ours, we got given an extra bed, had to set it up ourselves and had to move things around. Later that night when we went to cook dinner, all of the pots and pans and silverware were filthy, my mum had to re-wash them all, they still had old food on it.My dad went to reception and told them about this but they didn't care, they said we should just re-wash them ourselves, but we shouldn't have to.
After all this, we chose to cut our motel stay short and go into another motel.
If my dad was paying (not through work he wouldn't have paid, if I could give this review a rating it would be a big fat zero. I will never stay in this motel again and will not recommend it to anyone.

Having booked with Cameron Thermal Motor Lodge for Feb 2015 and via conversations with the owner and her worker, I was disappointed and a bit miffed to receive an email stating that my booking had been canceled due to not booking the minimum of three nights stay over a long weekend. This had never been mentioned and several other places in Tauranga have never heard of this ruling altho Cameron Thermal motor lodge states that it is common practice in Tauranga. I have traveled all over the world and New Zealand and I will not book at nor recommend this place again. It is not only unprofessional but also bad practice to take a booking for a room then cancel it with a pitiful excuse.

We had the queen studio, it was nice and clean. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. This motel is on the main road but i was surprise how quiet it was during the night =D. It is also very close to restaurants (within walking distant)
they also have a thermal pool =D which was amazing ...(so don't forget your swimwear ladies and gents)
