Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I was going to list all the things that were wonderful about our stay but probably not enough room. Excellent helpful hosts, a view that will stun you and a breakfast fit for a king. Go and stay there you will love it

It's a wonderful B&B with great views and great food, but the hosts are really what sets this place apart. They are probably the friendliest people in New Zealand and make you feel at home in their house. This was the best lodging I had on New Zealand vacation by far!

My husband and I wanted a weekend away somewhere where we could forget about our busy lives and just relax. Minden Heights was perfect. We treated ourselves to a massage with Dawn too, which was the icing on the cake. The room and house were top notch, as was the breakfast. We went when the weather wasn't the best, but could still enjoy the great views. We may look forward to another trip in summer, when we can make the most of the pool and tennis court. Thanks Dawn and Steve!

My wife and I spent three nights. What a wonderful peaceful home, it has to be seen to be believed,,,if the site photos look good then try staying there...it is magnificent. The accommodation is first class with extensive views of Mt Maunganui and waters, great bedroom, bathroom is excellent, breakfasts are also very generous with local fresh produce. Swimming pool, gym, tennis court all brand new. The genuine friendliness of the hosts, Dawn & Steve is second to none. We heartily enjoyed our very relaxing stay. Thank you Dawn & Steve

We spent three nights with Dawn & Steve and had a wonderful time in Minden Heights. The views across the bay are stunning and the stylish, modern house has got all the comfort you would be looking for. We had the pleasure of enjoying our delicious dinner (and breakfast) together with Dawn and Steve, it felt like staying with friends. They were so friendly and gave a lot of good advice what to do in the area. We even managed to play a round of golf with Steve on his beautiful home course. What a treat!!

The B&B was a little drive to get to, but once there you understand why - ridiculously gorgeous views in 270 degrees. The family was so lovely, so friendly - they even invited us to join a little chill session they had with their friends and we all ended up grilling dinner and spending the evening having the best time with them. They were full of great advice on what to do, where to go. The home is luxurious yet comfortable and they have every amenity a house can offer (pool, billiards, exercise room, etc), and we felt as comfortable as if we were in our own home. The mornings are the topper when they made us each breakfast to order. Such sweet and thoughtful hosts!

Originally we were planning on staying in town by the ocean, but we decided to do something different this time and stay up in the hills and we are so glad we did. The views are lovely, the home is peaceful, quiet and well looked after. Steve and Dawn are great hosts and make you feel most welcome. This is one of the best B & B’s we have stayed at.

The pictures just do not do this sophisticated architectural masterpiece justice. The house is an absolute marvel most especially in its orientation to a spectacular view of the mount and surrounding farm land and water. This house is a perfect spot to recover from your flight into Auckland. Dawn and Steve will take excellent care of you while you acclimate to NZ time. Dawn is even a massage therapist! We found this beautiful spot quite by accident on our trip back up the coast from Rotorua to the airport. Leaving here we had a lovely, meandering ride up the Coromandel Peninsula on our way out of the country. And believe me, it was a needed respite from the hustle and bustle of Rotovegas. It could not have been a more pleasant and convenient stay in the embrace of native Kiwis with all the charm we learned to expect from their countrymen. The Tart recommends that you spend your hard earned money here rather than in some soulless hotel along the way.
