Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the ultimate 5 star B and B. Barry and Lynaire operate the most amazing immaculate luxurious B&B in Taupo. The room is amazing, we even had a walk in wardrobe and his and his basins. Barry is extremely interesting having worked in many industries and Lynaire is an absolute delight. Breakfast was amazing and the view was impeccable. Can't rate these guys enough.

A very neat, clean, modern B&B with the most beautiful view over Lake Taupo. Quiet area and we slept like royalty. Extremely friendly hosts Barry & Lynaire. Thank you for a tasty full on breakfast. Barry showed us Huka Falls. It was breathtaking. Thank you for taking us into Taupo and help us find a very good restaurant.

This B&B was a stunning building with superb views over Lake Taupo and better than 5* furnishing and decor AND to cap it all the owners (Barry & Lynaire) were the friendliest of people.
They even gave us a lift into town ! What more can we say ? FANTASTIC

Visiting Taupo for an overnight stop between Rotorua and Napier. Somehow mucked up the date of the booking and arrived a day earlier than our booking. Greeted at the door by our hosts Barry & Lynaire who sorted our stuff up immediately and welcomed us to their beautiful home in Acacia Bay.

Excellent hosts and unsurpassed hospitality. Even flew the Aussie Flag during our stay with them. Superb accommodations surpassed every expectation. Unbelievable panoramic vistas from every window of the property. Great recommendation for dinner that night and hot springs bathing the following morning. Barry even delivered our friends umbrella to the hot springs location which she had left in their room upon checkout.

Beautiful breakfast and some great stories from our hosts. Fully recommend this outstanding home stay bed and breakfast in Taupo. Thanks Barry and Lynaire.

Located a stones throw away from Taupo, a beautifully presented BnB with a welcoming living area which makes you feel at home even when you are a million miles away.

The accommodation was always immaculately clean and our room was incredibly spacious with stunning views out onto Lake Taupo. Breakfast was hearty and filling and bottles of water, beers, wine and a bowl of fruit and basket of chocolate were always well-stocked and available upon your desire.

The hosts Lynaire and Barry were some of the most friendly people we met during our entire month travelling around New Zealand. I would say that they went above and beyond the call of duty on a number of occasions for us to make sure we had the best experience. From sharing their wealth of knowledge about the local area to ensuring that we had the most comfortable of stays, it was a level of hospitality that I will never forget. Barry saw that I had a bad cough during our stay and he made a point to ensure that I had a big spoonful of honey every day to help me cope. When we had an early start one day (undertaking the Tongariro Crossing), Lynaire made us an extremely generous packed lunch we could take with us so that we weren't caught out without nutritious food on the day. That same evening we had no energy to get dinner so they collected an order from Dominoes pizza for us. We wouldn't have got this level of service at a 5* hotel!

There is much more that I could write, but in summary if you are looking for a great place to stay in Taupo and get a real sense of NZ hospitality, this is the place for you!

Excellent room. All new. Perfect cleanliness. Great view. Great breakfast. Generous hosts beyond imagination. Barry and Lynaire took us on their own boat for a tour to the Maori carvings in Lake Taupo.

We weren't expecting accommodation and hospitality at such a high level. Serendipity. The location suited us perfectly (as we had a car) with expansive views of Lake Taupo. Our hosts were brilliant and provided us with ideas to explore the district and assisted us to make bookings where appropriate. Well worth it!

What a lovely couple of days spent at Regent Lodge. Hosts Barry and Lynnaire were fantastic. Lovely breakfast, and beautiful home. Roomy bedroom, with a lovely view of the lake. Even though it was midwinter, and terrible weather, the house was warm and cosy.

Barry and Lynnaire were very friendly and we felt very welcomed! Breakfast was delicious, the house was gorgeous and the insider tip off about place for dinner and the hidden pool in the free hot spa park was fantastic. The pets (Sootie and Millie) were also great!

An excellent location overlooking lake Taupo and the surrounding mountains. A very well appointed, comfortable, warm house. Lots of walks nearby. Very warm and welcoming hosts,,Barry and Lynaire, and of course the gorgeous Milly (Jack Russel) and Sooty (the black moggy). Nothing is a problem here, well looked after, lots of books to read and great places to sit and enjoy the view.
Thoroughly recommend this place to all for a great stay in Taupo.
