Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We hadn't stayed in a B&B in a few years and had some apprehension as we arrived - we were the only guests. However Andy and Leann quickly put us at ease - they were great hosts. We had BR and large sitting room with great view toward Lake Taupo. Breakfast was served in sitting room - we'll always remember the freshly baked bread. Leann help us select the perfect day to hike the Tongariro Crossing, and was always interested in suggesting other attractions. Twice, the washed our clothes! Great alternative to a hotel!

What a house! As soon as we arrived this place was perfect. Leanne and Andy were excellent hosts and it was sad to say goodbye. The house itself is stunning - our bedroom was beautifully decorated and guests have a fabulous lounge with a killer view. Our room was very comfortable (especially with the electric blanket!) with everything you need. Cleanliness was also exceptional and Leanne was very kind and did some washing for me. Cannot recommend this place enough!

The most authentic bed&breakfast!
Beautiful views. Fresh and airy rooms. New, beautifully designed house. A cosy breakfast. A good nights sleep in good beds, but most of all, an amazingly warm and welcoming couple giving you space to rest for a night in their beautiful oasis.
We pulled up late, as Andy and LeAnn were getting ready for bed but they still let us in and took great care of us which we really appreciated after a long day's drive (although we do believe that they'd prefer bookings in advance:). Would recommend this to anybody and everybody chill! 😃

What a gem. Gorgeous house, with a feeling of home for visitors. Lovely, lovely owners - perfect hosts. Continental breakfast, par excellence - homemade bread and muffins, choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice and tea or coffee - great start to the day. The upper floor is just for guests, with a stunning sitting room giving great views across to the lake and Mount Ruapehu. Décor immaculate, bedding gorgeous, shower fab. Couldn't have asked for more.

We stayed here for one night in November. Included in the price was one bedroom and one shared bathroom and living room on the upstairs floor .

Pros: you get a stunning view over the lake and mountain and the room is cosy and clean.

Cons : online the ad did not mention that the bathroom was shared with other guest. Luckily we were the only guest , so this was not an issue . But otherwise we would have been very disappointed .The ad also said there was kitchen facility available ,but the tenants were not that keen on promoting the idea.

All in all it was a bit to pricey for that you got . You had the feeling you were sleeping over at some of your friends friends that you never met before, not a paying customer.

This homestay or bed and breakfast is wonderfully located, overlooking Lake Taupo and the township. At night the lights twinkle across the water and it looks like fairyland. The House is near new, and has been well maintained and presented.
The bedroom has no en suite, but the facilities are handy, and not shared with the hosts. The breakfast is brought to the upstairs lounge where guests serve themselves (this is because the hosts are both employed outside the home, and cannot entertain guests over a meal).

Leanne and Andy were outstanding hosts, very attentive and open - we had some late night conversations about everything, bathing in their hot tub, staring at the stars...

Breakfast was great, rooms were spotless and had beautiful views (watch the sunset), all facilities were excellent. They even lent us their bikes so we did some mountain bike tracks near the waterfall, and were always available in case we needed a lift to the town or anything, really.

Simply a great place to stay!

We found Leanne and Andy outstanding hosts, breakfast was great and liked the home made bread and muffins, cleaning is spotless if any body can fault the cleaning I would like to know.
As the reviews have said the view was great.
Bed linen was of good quality so were the towels, also had a good nights sleep.
All I can say thanks to Leanne and Andy for a great stay.

If there's a better place to stay in Taupo I'd like to know about it but it would be asking a lot. It's a gorgeous house in a great location - check out the view to Mt Ruapehu from the guest lounge! Hosts are super-welcoming without going over the top, the rooms are everything you need and the breakfasts are luscious. Fantastic value for such a high standard of accommodation.
