Suncourt were incredibly helpful when our other accommodation failed miserably and left us in the lurch. Suncourt went out of their way to accommodate us, offered a discount and the facilities & service were second to none. We will definitely stay there in the future.
Room was spacious and nicely furbished. possibly could have done with some 'tumbler' glasses but we were very pleased with it. Lovely outlook to the lake over the grass and one block back from the main road so very quiet
The Suncourt has views over the lake (if you get a front room) and in good weather, it's so beautiful to sit on the balcony watching the sunset. Our room was just about big enough for the three of us, was clean and nicely appointed with a small kitchen area, good size bathroom and balcony. The bistro in the hotel was handy too and we had a lovely early evening meal there from their "Early Bird Special" menu. It's a lovely spot to stay for relaxation or water sports.
Have stayed at this Hotel every Auckland Anniversary Weekend with a large group (6-10 units) for the past seven years. The units are clean and well located. The price is a little high but it is a busy weekend so you have expect to pay a premium. Where this place lets its self down is the way they handle bookings. In sorts its appalling, every year its a battle to know whats going on. Last year was a major battle just to get them to confirm our units, this year they apologized for last years muck up and took all of our groups e-mails with commitment to sort our bookings for next year this week. Yesterday we all received an email telling us to go else where as they have been booked out for a International Sporting Event... These things happen but they would have been fully…
We liked the location and the room; a little pricey for what you get (at least by NA standards but as we found out - it seems most NZ hotels don’t offer rooms with 2 queen beds - more likely singles). Close to several restaurants and the waterfront.
