Loved it here for a couples quiet and peaceful weekend away from the kids. We loved the nice big comfy bed, the clean and well appointed modern room and bathroom. Shower pressure was better than at home! Kitchenette has a fridge and microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. That’s all we needed as we planned on eating out. There’s plenty of car parking. The hosts are very warm, friendly, and welcoming. Close to town, walking distance of about 15 minutes each way. The best thing is the rooms are soundproofed, so you’re not hearing your neighbours talking and moving around! Thats a luxury in my opinion! We’ve already booked to stay again.

We stayed for two nights on a recent holiday tour of the North Island and found the Alpine lodge to be a gem! We had a studio with mountain views which was large, well equipped and spotless. The views were great especially the sunsets. The location is within walking distance to the lake side and plenty of coffee shops, bars, restaurants/eateries and shops. About 5/10 minutes drive to Spa Thermal Park and the walk to Huka Falls. Check in to check out was seamless with such nice friendly people. Great value, great location and memorable stay! Thank you!

After a miserable accomodation experience in Napier, we were very pleased when we ended up at Alpine Lake Motel by chance. Check in was easy and the woman on reception was very welcoming. We had an accessible studio (no 5), paid about $170 and it was very pleasant - clean, fresh, bright and modern and very well equipped for a one night stay, with a firm, comfortable bed, enough pillows, reading lights, a very adequate kitchenette and a very nice little private courtyard with table and chairs. I liked the way someone had actually thought about what travellers might want, or find convenient - clear instructions for the TV in the room guide, a heat pump, a small desk, a comfortable chair and footstool and even a hook to hold the door open when you were bringing luggage in. The bathroom was nice and clean with good towels and a heated rail. The motel is close enough to walk to the town and restaurants if you wanted, or to stroll the lake front. This will be our go-to motel next time we visit Taupo.

Of all the places we stayed travelling through the North Island, the Alpine Lake Motel was by far the best. The rooms include a full kitchenette, a spa bath, dining area and the comfiest bed! The motel rooms are absolutely spotless with fluffy towels and lovely soaps. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely owners. They also went above and beyond to help me out with some personal work issues.
Could not recommend this place enough and if we ever come again we will 100% come back!

Room 18 upstairs, all usual amenities and great spa bath with internal window allowing one to watch TV while in bath. Room was a very good size, very clean and bed was comfortable. We had a trailer and motorbike which moteliers coned off area behind units for us to park which was out of sight of road which was excellent. 1km walk to town so great location too. Excellent stay for our wedding anniversary. Highly recommended

I have been a regular guest at Alpine Lake Motel for the past eight years, visiting every fortnight, and I can confidently say it is the best accommodation in Taupo. The rooms are immaculate, equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The highlight for me is the luxurious spa bath, which is perfect for unwinding after a long day.
The motel feels like a home away from home, thanks to the wonderful owners and managers who go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels welcome. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality make each stay memorable.

What a great surprise! Taupo appears to be full to the brim with motels rather than global brand hotels making it really tough for the international traveler to know what’s good.
This little treat is about 10 mts walk from the lake front, a couple of km outside the centre (so super peaceful) yet very clean, modern, comfortable and well equipped. We self catered for 2 nights, all the kitchen ware was clean, well prepared and presentable. The bathroom in our case had a shower and a huge spa bath. We had space in 3 rooms for 5, so perfect for families (although then self catering maybe a bit of a pinch)….restaurant within walking distance, super market about 1.5 km away.///

We stayed here for 3 nights.The room we had had lake views,spacious kitchen with full size fridge freezer,large living room area and very comfortable bed. This accomodation is perfect and relaxing at a very good price and walkable to all of central taupo. It also was modern and very clean. It seemed like home away from home.

This is a very clean and spacious motel close to downtown and the lakeshore We had a corner room upstairs with good views of the mountains The desk attendant was very kind and helpful to us. We tried to use the TV cast service to cast Amazon Prime movies from our laptop but it will not work unless you have an Amazon Prime NZ account.
