We spent 2 nights at Chalet Eiger and wish we could have stayed longer. The chalet is well located about 10 minutes’ drive from Taupo, and is built and furnished to a very high standard. Rooms are spacious and quiet and very comfortable. The complimentary cheese platter and wine in the fridge were lovely additional touches. Nina and Peter are welcoming and hospitable hosts, and had many excellent suggestions for places to visit.

We spent three wonderful nights at Chalet Eiger during Christmas 2019. The Chalet is amazing with beautiful views over Lake Taupo from the room and balcony. Our room was very spacious and comfortable and you can tell they put a lot of thought into every detail. Nina and Peter are incredible hosts. We felt extremely welcome and they gave us a lot of great advice about the area. They took every effort to make us feel at home and even organized a fantastic Christmas celebration (including an amazing Christmas dinner). We really enjoyed our stay and were extremely sorry we had to leave. We will definitely come back.

Besides your spacious and very nice room you basically get a whole house for the price. You get to use the beautiful lobby/living room and the dining room. Peter and Nina are the type of hosts that make you come back to a certain location. We were even kidding w them that we felt like a family w them after 1 day. They look out to make your stay as pleasant as possible - stayed in many great hotels during the years but no concierge service can be compared to the way they help you out. The two lovely dogs, Rufus and Bella living at the property was just the icing on the cake.

My wife and stayed for five days This place is at the end of a quite driveway wonderful view and so quiet,out host Pete and Nina were great the whole time pointing out the best places to visit and restaurants to eat at ,breakfast are awesome Nina will cook up any things you want and was also the chat time to plan your day’s sight seeing ,there is a lounge for the guests with great views over the lake and mountain.the rooms were well presented with great views and the shower and bath are great. the best was the hosts wonder friendly people that made our stay wonderful . Highly recommend chalet Eiger to anyone wanting a quiet time with generous hosts

My wife and I stayed at Chalet Eiger in Sept 2021 and had a wonderful, relaxing stay. Due to International and regional lockdowns we had the chalet to ourselves and enjoyed the run of the communal areas. The room was well appointed and the underfloor heating in the bathroom a nice touch. One thing we really appreciated was the entire house was very well cleaned - faultless. Peter and Nina were very accommodating and even dropped us in town for dinner one night. The other night we enjoyed the meal cooked by Nina which was amazing and the breakfasts were comprehensive. Overall, a wonderful stay and we aim to be back one day soon.

This is a perfect place from which to explore the delights of Lake Taupo and the surrounding area. Peter and Nina, not to mention the dogs, are delightful hosts, nothing seems to be too much trouble. The house is immaculate, the rooms large and comfortable, the garden peaceful and the view, particularly from the dining/sitting room is breathtaking. During our stay we had great food, huge breakfasts are available, and there are many restaurants nearby for evening meals. We were dropped off and taxied home. Peter also fixed up their electric bikes for us so we could explore in an unhurried way and get some exercise. Thoroughly recommend this as the bikes took us easily to nearby waterfalls, volcanic park and the lake. Thank you both for a terrific stay, wish it had been for longer. NZ is a gem. We have just arrived home after our long weekend away staying with Nina and Peter at the stunning Chalet Eiger, and we're already wishing we could go back and do it all over again. We celebrated my birthday during our stay and wanted to enjoy everything that the chalet had to offer including pre-dinner drinks, canapes and a delicious three course meal with complementary New Zealand wine and beer. Nina cooked up a feast for us, and both her and Peter made us feel so special and comfortable in their space. They are genuinely caring hosts and enjoy being around their guests, which was a wonderful addition to our trip. They went above and beyond for us, making us feel like family friends. We borrowed their electric bikes to cycle around the huge Lake Taupo, and explored some of the little bays dotted around Acacia Bay. A great location, a beautiful surround and delicious homecooked food. Highly recommended.

Wow what a fantastic location and property. Just ten minutes drive from lots of restaurants and attractions of Taupō. Peter and Nina kindly upgraded us to a room with a view of the lake. The room was very well furnished and they kindly left us complimentary bottle of wine, cheese board and soft drinks which we enjoyed in the guest lounge. Breakfast was delicious - fabulous selection of fresh fruit, granola and freshly cooked breakfast to order. Nina provided us lots of local recommendations for our trip for attractions and restaurants. Thank you both so much for a wonderful stop on our honeymoon!

Chalet Eiger is absolutely beautiful! It is new, it is modern, it is spacious, and every little detail of this place gives you a sense of luxury and extreme comfort. Nina and Peter are excellent hosts, friendly, helpful, and Nina’s breakfasts are just delicious. Loved our conversations with Nina every morning at breakfast time! Thank you!

If you want time away from the kids, peace and quiet, be pampered and have The Hostess with the Mostess, Nina....The Chalet Eiger is the place to be. Although a slight mix up with the rooms, Pete was very accommodating and gave us a discount. From immaculate rooms, gardens, lounge and dinning to the best hosts we ever met! Beautiful and yummy breakfasts cooked to your liking, complimentary wine, cheeses and fruits you couldn’t ask for anything more. I still got my soak in the beautiful deep claw bath. Pete, Nina, Rufus and especially cuddly Bella were super friendly and very welcoming. If you want luxury, great food and quietness The Chalet Eiger is where you need to stay! We will definitely be coming back.
