Oasis Beach Resort boasts a prime location on the main Eastern Taupo arterial road, offering breathtaking views right on the lake. For an unforgettable experience, I highly recommend booking lake-side rooms to fully appreciate the magnificent scenery. While the rooms may appear a bit outdated, they maintain a commendable level of cleanliness and comfort. Despite the aging decor, the allure of the view and convenient lake access compels me to rate this establishment higher. However, it’s worth noting that winter may not be the ideal time to visit, and outdoor activities might be preferable. In the competitive market of Taupo, I believe that an eventual upgrade to the rooms would enhance the overall appeal of this otherwise charming resort.

Dated motel but clean and comfy bed and in a perfect location. Guests can use all the facilities next door at the upmarket Millennium Hotel including an indoor pool and nice restaurant (the Edgewater). Difficult to get out on to the lake - we had to go through the Millennium as the walkway from the Oasis wasn't always open. Had no trouble with noise even if our room was on the road.

Booked at short notice on Matariki holiday were lucky to get anything in Taupo so took what we could get. Showing its age peeling wall paper etc. The heat pump didn't seem to work there was a small fan heater provided but was that noisy had to turn it off when we went to bed. There was no front desk we had to book in at the Millennium next door not a big problem we were offered the use of their facilities as a part from the pool the Oasis had none.
Needs a spruce up would not be first (or second) choice for accommodation in Taupo.

The 2 bedroom apartment smelt musty and mouldy, wallpaper was starting to peel off the walls and there were about 50 bugs in the bathroom. In need of a refurbishment. Great view of the lake. Due to my allergy to mould we could not stay there, we requested a different room, that room smelt just as bad. We then requested to move to the hotel next door that seemed to be under the same management. We were charged $50 extra for this move even though we moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to our family of 4 squashing into a twin bed hotel room. I emailed the manager after our stay, who was very responsive, gave us a full refund and is looking into improving the service they provide. The rating I would give the room is 1, but have increased it to 2 due to the response received from the manager.

This motel advertises on its website, under facilities, that you can "experience absolute lakefront dining in this elegant restaurant at our adjoining property when you want to spoil or impress someone, or maybe celebrate a special occasion". This is accompanied by a beautiful picture of people dining looking out of the window over Lake Taupo. I booked for this reason alone, to take my wife there for her birthday. I booked for almost 2 months ahead of when we wanted to go there. I then rang the restaurant to book a table by the window. The restaurant is CLOSED and not going to be open when we wanted to go there. There are no other dining options in the area. So within half an hour of booking I cancelled the booking. I was due for a partial refund but the motel has the option to give a full refund. They refused. I rang and spoke to them and instead of trying to work things out they argued with me. They have now opened their cafe for dinner. This wasn't available when I cancelled, is only for casual dining anyway and is not the "elegant" experience described on the website so it isn't a substitute. Check the other reviews and stay somewhere else.

Not clean e.g. ant problem, cobwebs, needed to be aired out before guests arrived, red stains on bed, construction materials left lying around on the balcony. 😑
Customer service was not the best e.g. 1) Receptionist (Jen or whatever her name is) needs to either be retrained in customer service skills and manners or to be replaced by someone younger with better multi tasking skills/effective communication.
Paid for a 2 day stay for the 3 bedroom apartment and I would say the price wasn’t worth it. Only great thing about the place is the view and that it’s close to the town centre. Not returning and would definitely pick another place to stay further down from this one.

Great one night stop on our way further north. Wonderful views over the lake, drinks next door at the attached Millennium Hotel whilst the sun set. We stayed in a 2bdr unit overlooking the lake, good beds, fresh linen and everything we need bar from a very tired air con unit which needed replacing- it barely worked.

Was a little bit hesitant to stay here for the night after reading different reviews but was very happy with our choice Such an awesome location right on the lakefront and we all enjoyed the pool. Place needs updating but then it would be more expensive and you definitely get your money's worth in the location. Will definitely be back to stay again.

Paid $270 for myself price excessive. Worn out unit needs demolishing. Had to book in next door as no reception, wandering about in the freezing cold. Bedroom door opens against furniture so ñot safe to use bed in the dark. Heat pump didn't heat the room even set on 30. The kitchen fittings are awful, the wallpaper old and the shower and tiles are cracked. A bit of false advertising here.
