Angie and Garth are such lovely hosts. We stayed in a beautiful place, surrounded by an amazing garden. We enjoyed delicious food, all homemade. We’ve had a very good time at Whakaipo Lodge. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Angie and Garth were wonderful and welcoming hosts! Everything about our stay was thoughtful and authentic - from the welcome drink and canapés to the fantastic homemade pizzas and excellent recommendations for activities in the area. This was the most relaxing part of our 2 week stay in New Zealand and we would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone making a trip to the north island.

Garth and Angie are such wonderful hosts and welcome you like old friends. We enjoyed our nightly glass of wine and appetizer while talking with them. Great ideas and suggestions for the area were offered and the rooms are large, comfortable and well stocked with coffee and teas. Guest quarters with a crackling fire made us want to move in. Homemade breads, hot breakfast made the stay complete. Don't forget the sheep! Thank you!

Angie and Gareth made us feel so welcomed and comfortable from the moment we pulled into the driveway! They gave us helpful information to prepare for our activities, gave us guidance on things to do, prepared amazing meals and kept everything spotless! The property is beautifully maintained and the pictures online don’t do it justice! Highly recommend visiting with Angie and Gareth if visiting this region!

Angie & Garth are wonderful hosts. Their property is exceptional. The surrounding gardens are an absolutely wonderful oasis. I was traveling with my Mother and we loved sitting on our deck watching all the wildlife and admiring the wisteria and other plants. Each evening we were offered a welcome glass of wine and some nibbles, savory some nights, chocolates on another occasion. Angie makes great truffles! Garth really helped us to identify where we'd like to visit each day, suggesting places that you don't easily find in a guidebook. Breakfacst each morning was freshly cooked and we enjoyed putting the world to rights over a flat white.

Angela and Garth made our two night stay so comfortable. Nothing was an effort. It is the best place we have stayed on our three New Zealand holiday. The lodge is just beautiful with gardens made to relax in with Angela’s canapés and a glass of wine.

Oh my goodness where do I start!!! We booked the Indulgence package to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed on arrival with a beautiful afternoon tea. Whakaipo lodge is beautiful! Our room had a beautiful bed to sleep on and the pressure of the shower was fantastic! We looked out over the gardens and all the spring flowers. Another couple from France was also staying so we all joined together in the lounge for wine and canapés before heading off to town for dinner. The full breakfast was plentiful as was more canapés and dinner the second night. I have to eat gluten free due to being coeliac and the care and preparation to keep me safe was so spot on! I didn’t miss out on anything and the food was the nicest I have ever had. Sadly we had to leave after another beautiful breakfast but we will be back!!! Thank you Garth and Angie for an exquisite weekend.…

Only thing more lovely about the property is the people couple that hosts you. Gary and Angie were delights. They are eager to answer any questions and make recommendations on the area. Nice room, great breakfast and easy conversation. Well located outside of town, quiet and relaxing. Don’t forget to pet the sheep whom are all individually named.
