Don’t stay at the hotel, the pictures are about 10-15 years old. Shocking hotel, dirty carpets, leaking hot tub, kitchen bench peeling off. No smoke alarms, we complained and got $100 off our stay which was good. This hotels unsafe and should not be operating.
Great location, showing its age, Hot Tub amazing, present left in toilet from previous occupants, bed very firm, noisy fridge. Not sure it was worth the price paid but then we did Book only 24hrs beforehand.
Facilities comfortable but in dire need of upgrade and repair if looking for a lower end clean motel...this is the one but compare prices with newer accommodation. Would probably not choose to stay here again.
Nice clean room with a really cool kitchenette. The geothermal spa pool was GREAT! Very nice for an evening soak. Nice location by the waterfront. Good reasonable priced overnight stay in Taupo. Good overall.
The photos advertised gave us a "Not the worst but not the best, standard kind of vibes" which i was fine with for the price which is average for standard motels. But after arriving I wish I had spend the extra $20-$50 at another hotel. We arrived early unexpectedly around 12.30-1pm (check in was 2pm) we travelled from wellington and based on Maps it was est 5 hour drive so we left at 9am, We had a child with us and was extremely tired and hot and we were not offered any option To check in early which was understandable, the cleaners had aparently only just started cleaning the rooms althought every other hotel we had stayed at in taupo would let us check in or hangout for abit untill our room had been done . The state of the rooms are extremely poor. Nearly everything in the room is damaged or near broken we couldnt sit comfy at the dinner tabel without the chair legs swinging side to side. The carpets coming off the ground, the wardrobe you cant even open because the doors are completely off the rail, the bathroom is so tiny the shower door is squashed against the sink and not to be rude but if your a bigger person like myself you literally wouldnt be able to squish through, i just manged with a little manuvor. We are in a upstairs studio thats literally boiling hot with no air flow, is so hot I feel like Im back in samoa, no air conditioning and only a small fan we are having to decide to risk sleeping with the front door wide open. While we have has the front door opened we noticed nearly the whole top floor of aparments are doing the same which is fair enough but in the same sence no one gets any privacy from this and its very uncomfertable. I spoke to the neighbour and she said they are dying from the heat aswell. The toilet needs to be flushed a million times to get the paper down. This is a horrible experience and I am currently sitting beside the empty bath tub trying to cool down as the tiles seem To be colder than the fride/freezer itself. 100% would NOT recomend if you are coming for a family holiday and are going To be here more than a night. *booked through Booking.com* a potential positive to some - No ID was checked, only a registration form to fillout, credit card was not checked, no damage/security deposits were taken. Our room has great potential if it were fixed, the mineral spa is my favorite part as it could totally be super fun and romantice Or a cool hangout with a bunch of friends but I feel a Poster explaining the Brown staining all over the hotub is from the mineral water and its completely normal would be a great addition to the info already in there as we have not yet touched it because it just looks extremly unclean and the hot water stinks like rotorua. The staff are friendly and approachable especially when i questioned about the stains in the tub which i think overall is the best part of our stay so far. The overall motel has smashed flooring/concrete in ground level outdoor areas, the underneath of the upstairs decks are broken and big holes which could be very dangerous but the lake is directly across the road and can be seen on the upstairs walk way which ive had to drag my wobbly dining chairs to make myself a balcony to excape the heat.…
