Due to some mutual miscommunication we arrived a day early but the owner greeted us warmly and graciously and he did everything he could to make us feel welcome. The Lodge was actually a magnificent home and the room was wonderful, with an outstanding view of Lake Taupo, and had every amenity. This is a very personal and intimate accommodation and you feel more like house guests that paying guests. The food was outstanding. We arrived feeling like customers and left feeling like friends. A wonderful !

We were charged and extra 200 dollars per night for our 8 year old child. There was not even a bath tub or a coffee plunger in our room. As for the spa, if…
