What a stunning and peaceful location! We visited Lake Taupo Lodge as a treat while staying during the Home & Garden Show. Gary was a welcoming host and always happy to help. We has our 11 month old daughter with us and they made us all feel at ease and that her curious nature was not a problem. Breakfast every morning was cooked to perfection and what a selection! We would definitely recommend this location if your looking for a special spot, over looking the lake and the lights of town.

We were fortunate to enjoy 3 nights at this amazing lodge as part of our travels through NZ. The setting is incredible with fantastic views of the lake and our suite was spacious and very comfortable. The cooked-to-order breakfasts, delicious canapés and wine in the evening, and incredibly gracious hosts made this a memorable stay. Gary made sure that we had reservations for dinner each night at the best restaurants in town. The lodge is an architectural delight and the gardens are not to be missed. Everything about our stay was perfect from the moment we arrived until we left. We used Lake Taupō Lodge as a base to explore the area and looked forward to returning each afternoon. Our stay at the lodge was a highlight of our trip.

Lake Taupo Lodge was a beautiful retreat! We stayed in the main house and the view from our room was amazing and the sunsets were spectacular! We overlooked the garden, which obviously had been designed over many, many years, as well as the lake and mountains. Gary was a wonderful host and always had wine and homemade canapés in the evenings! He offered to help arrange dinner reservations and provided input on places to see. The room was very nice, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was delicious, made to order and prepared by experienced chefs. Great experience!

Staying at Lake Taupo Lodge was part of a 19 day touring/golf adventure in NZ. This luxury lodge exceeded all expectations from the moment the owner, Gary, greeted us at the door. The lovely room overlooking the lake was both large, comfortable and, well, just perfect. The hospitality continued each evening for drinks and canapes and each morning for a wonderful breakfast prepared by a truly talented and hospitable chef who quickly became a friend. We had no idea what a paradise Lake Taupo Lodge would be! The surrounding gardens and views from our room and patio were absolutely stunning. Gary was the ultimate host, ensuring everything was taken care of and offering various services to enhance our stay. The chef's cocktail hour and breakfast preparations were of gourmet quality. The room was lovely and included many features and some food and beverages that were gratis. Parking was so convenient - right on the premises. We only wish we could have spent more time there.

The owner and chef make you feel like one of the family. This is a beautiful part of the world and i would recommend LTL as a great place to stay. Fantastic personalised breakfast, i would recommend having it in the manicured gardens, so peaceful.

My husband and I would strongly recommend this unique lodging place, A beautiful inn that is very homelike and comfortable. By far the most luxurious bathroom we experienced in New Zealand. The gardens are worth spending time in, I think I took 20 pictures of the unique flowers and plantings. The architecture of the lodge is a nod to Frank Lloyd Wright, and the breakfast was first class. Thanks, Gary, for a memorable stay!

This Frank Lloyd Wright style lodge was impressive from the start. The attention to detail - the food, music and beautifully appointed rooms made this our favorite place to stay on the North Island. The view of the gardens and lake from our room was wonderful.

The Lake Taupo Lodge provided us with a lovely, heartfelt stay. The hosts were attentive and assisted with a small birthday surprise for my husband. The garden was lovely to be in and helped us feel relaxed. The design of the Lodge was detailed with Frank Lloyd Wright design which we appreciated. The breakfast was perfect and the parking was easy and convenient. We would definitely stay there again.

I stayed here with the wife just after we went to level 2 lockdown, It is such a beautiful place to stay at. The lodge has great facilities, a spectacular view of the lake, amazing gardens and the food by Chef Chris was absolutely amazing. Hosts Gary and Sherlie were very welcoming. I must add that the bed was super comfortable which is a major plus for me (Nothing beats a great bed). Would recommend to all.
