Good location, close to town and 2 second walk to the lake. Clean room and nice staff. Very quiet. Beds a bit soft and sunken in the middle could do with a upgrade in the sense.Otherwise a good stay and would recommend. Good shower also
Nice stay here at Bay Court. Close to town, and across the road from the lake. Very friendly gentleman at reception showed me up to my very compact 1 bedroom apartment. It was a very crammed little space, but perfectly acceptable for my 1 night. Room had a lovely big Spa Bath in the bathroom, with good water pressure. Value for money was spot on. Certainly not the flashiest motel, but it does the job.
Driving in we were greeted with a broken sign above the office and grubby looking motel and driveway. We were directed to our 2 upstairs rooms, past a broken umbrella and unswept walkway. Upon entering the first room booked for 2, we dodged a portable un valenced single bed in the lounge to get to the small double bed In the bedroom ( Advertised as Large double bed .. we didn’t expect a king but a queen bed would have been nice ). Into The bathroom and spa with no windows, and back outside to check with our friends to see if their room was any better. Their room did have a queen bed, but still had a 2nd temporary bed stuck in the tiny lounge dining area. We could see the lake from the walkway outside our unit but it was not the experience we were expecting for the $200 per night price tag on each room. We returned to the office and told the manager we would not be staying. We left and found alternative accomodation to find that Bay Court had actually taken the Full payment after we left. I would have been happy with a small admin fee but to take the entire amount I consider to be almost criminal. They have since offered a 70% refund but I find that also unacceptable taking $120 for rooms they actually resold immediately for that night. We are in our sixties now and have travelled extensively around New Zealand throughout our lifetime and I can say without doubt this is my worst motel experience ever.…
Only reason for the 4 star is it is a decent walk from town. However, the people are friendly, the place is spotless, the bed is comfy and did I mention the people are friendly. Loved hearing people singing away whilst cleaning, obviously happy in their work. Will be back
Our family of 4 stayed in a one bedroom suite. The location is next to a restaurant and within walking distance of town centre. It was a contactless check in. The beds were comfortable and the pillows soft. Extra pillows and blankets. The towels were soft and the spa bath was enjoyable. The kitchenette was fully stocked if you would want to cook. It all looked well maintained and clean the heater worked nicely to warm up lounge and bedroom. Heater in bathroom and on beds. Even across the road it was a quiet nights stay.
