Detailed Reviews
Really enjoyed our weekend stay here. Had a 1 bedroom unit at the back with a part lake view but it was fine being away from busy road. Very clean and well equipped kitchenette. Owners were really friendly and even gave us extra towels for swimming in the lake, which was just across the road (dig down and find warm water). Highly recommend this place. Loved our visits from the cat too 😁😁

Stayed for one night as a family of four with a toddler and 5 year old. I must say, they really enjoyed their stay. We were located on the ground floor which was perfect, rooms were immaculate and kitchenette with hobs were a convinient addition. Beds were comfortable and plenty of linen and extra blankets. Our room was preheated by the owners which was very thoughtful and they gave us a discount for De Bretts hot springs. There was also a folder full of takeaway menus and we ordered from Dixies who deliver straight to your room! Their food was delicipus too ☺️thank you Sails for adding to whats been a fun family holiday experience so far.

The care & attention shown by the hosts add genuine value to a relatively ordinary set of apartments. They're set across the road from Taupo lake, some distance from the town centre, and initial impressions are modest. But a lot of care & attention has gone into little details such as blackout window blinds, cutlery, coffee, fresh milk & toiletries etc. Best of all is the fully equipped free laundry facility (including free detergent) - very welcome for anyone on a touring holiday!

We stayed one night. The room was quite spacious and had a semi view to the lake but a lot of the view was blocked by a pillar that went from the office block to adjoining rooms. Our car was parked directly outside of our room which was good. We liked the fact that the bedroom was separated from the lounge. Kitchen well appointed. Our main complaint was the sofa bed lounge was incredibly uncomfortable to sit on.

We had a suite, back bedroom and front area with small table and couch with plenty of kitchen stuff and bathroom in between. The unit was on a parking area set back from the road, which was an advantage, quieter, but then had little on no view. It all worked very well for us to make breakfast, or eat take away food . The management/staff were very nice and informative, and additionally worked with us, when we wanted to change plans and add a day. It would have gotten 5 stars, except the location, a mile or so from the downtown area with no restaurants of shops close by, meant you needed to drive to anything (except a walk on the lake front).

+1
We had booked a lake view room so our view is very picture perfect. The room is very clean and I would say it is catered for the winter stay ( with heater in the living area, heated towel rail and electric blanket in bed ) to keep us warm. We walked to the town center and took us about 15 minutes so it is very convenient to get to all the restaurants. It also has SKY TV so good selection of channel options ( including Sports channels ). We had a very good meal at Mole and Chicken which is a walking distance from this motel ( about 10 minutes walk ). Kitchenwares are well equipped for a party of 4. Slept well and overall a comfortable stay.

Lakeside motel with good views and value.
The motel is easily accessible off the lakeshore road and most rooms look out over the lake. The owner at checkin was friendly and welcoming, even spotting that the milk carton she was about to give us was out of date and offering a jug of milk from their own kitchen!
The rooms were well laid out with an equipped kitchenette with everything you’d need.
Sometimes with motels they can look run down and tired, but with this one you could see the owners were putting effort into trying to fix things and keep it maintained

Two couples stayed in a two bedroom 2 bathroom ( en-suites ) apartment.
On arrival we were greeted by the manager who was extremely friendly.
We were all very impressed with the cleanliness of the apartment along with the kitchen facilities that were top notch.
The apartment had a spacious open plan living, dinning & kitchen.
The apartment was warm and inviting.
A nice walk along the lakefront into town is easy, 20 mins or so.
We all complimented the manager and would not hesitate to return.

We opted for a room with a lake view and a spa in the en-suite .
The lake views were great from the balcony . The sunset views even better !! It’s also conveniently located on the Main Street and the cafes are just a short drive away .
