We cannot recommend this place enough!! We came with 2 small kids and had the private spa room. The room is super spacious and clean. The patio is gorgeous. We expected to only come here to sleep but our kids loved the private spa and the heated pool so much we barely left!! We have traveled with our kids all over the world and this was by far their favorite place, it beat out fancy hotels in Japan! If you want a great place to chill, relax and be steps away from a sandy beach, this is the place for you!!

Stayed here two nights in thermal spa room, four adults. The queen bed was uncomfortable and the room was quite dark being a basement room. The room was private but the receptionist was not that welcoming, sadly. Bathroom had plenty of space with clean towels and linen. Shower was in need of repair. Be careful with car parking due to very small car park spaces.

Hi Jeff, Thank you for your comments. It is disappointing, and rare, that we receive "average" feedback. Suite 7 is a family suite (advertised as two singles and a queen bed) located on our ground floor, including a generous garden which provides a beautiful setting for the geothermal tub. We are reluctant to trim too much of the foliage back as the native plantings are so beautiful. They also provide much needed shade in the hot summer months. The shower cubicle was replaced immediately after your stay - due to the high occupancy demand of this suite it was difficult to find a window of opportunity to carry out this work. The shower tray had a small crack to it where a previous guest had dropped an object - this was water tight and covered for the short time between damage and repair. In addition the suite now has a 50inch smart television along with a 43 inch flatscreen in the separate bedroom. We are kiwi owned / operated motel with reception being managed by us. We have only ever received positive feedback.

We really enjoyed our stay at Baycrest Lodge over the holiday season. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and the private balcony views over the lake was wonderful. I had tried to book in elsewhere so this was not my first choice but we were more than happy. I used the bathroom spa bath every day of our stay, It was lovely just to soak in, I didn’t even turn in the jets.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Owners very friendly, room feels cosy, comfortable and lux, and in the courtyard (at ground level rooms, only) you have your own thermal water tub. Little touches like toileteries, nice filter coffee and lovely linen and heaps of TV channels are all contributed for our enjoyable stay. We will be back!
