Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wow, has this place gone backward...?! We've stayed here at least twice before, but the condition of the room and facilities has certainly regressed. The first thing that was necessary to do was to wash all the crockery and cutlery, and it was then that we encountered the very long wait for the hot water to come out. This wait was repeated every time hot water was required. It was also necessary to give all the other surfaces as clean as well. There was also red staining on the duvet, but the bed and pillows were quite comfy. I couldn't get the WiFi to work, but we have heaps of data so it was never an issue. On the plus side, Eternity, the manager, was lovely. However, not sure we'll return, but will keep an eye on subsequent reviews first.

Absolutely disgusting this place, Even being budget accommodation. Would not recommend this place to anyone. Paru, bed bugs, hair riddled sheets. Dirty stove. Drug smoking smells. Yuck! Poor child that have to stay/live in this environment

Definitely not worth $130. Microwave had been burnt out and smelt the unit out. No tea towel or kitchen cloth, cleaners had left what looked like a dirty rag in the cupboard. Crazy hot water mechanism where you have to turn on the hot tap all the way, then turn on the cold tap all the way, the slowly turnoff the cold tap and hope that the light flicks on, then you get warm water. Managed to get the bathroom and kitchen sink ones working but not the most important one, the shower. Must have tried 50 times, gave up so no shower for us. Very poor experience, don't recommend and would not stay again.

Layout of rooms was ideal for our group, although we had to muck around moving a day after we got there due to mixup, had a major ant problem in every room, the dryer was out of order in the laundry (no sign to advise this though) only one oven working and when I tried to use it one night it was covered in cleaner (not ideal when you have 18 people to feed) manager/owner wouldn't lay off asking for money to be paid even though we were there for a week long tournament and going nowhere, the other staff were lovely and accommodating. Need a toilet role holder in my room plus updating all round, had to ask for rooms to be serviced and toilet paper to be supplied.

The basic needs were met, place was ok, clean and affordable. Found the signs all over the unit a little demanding. We found the owners lovely to deal with. BUT: And heres the huge but, there were drug deals being done on site with our neighbour (possible emergency accommodation) being the dealer. Even had a “customer” knock at our door late at night. Told the owners and they acted like it was noted but also got the idea they already knew about it. The workers that lived on site would drink heavily of an evening and mornings they would start their day by stinking out the court yard with them smell of weed. When we sat in communal areas they would then share their horror stories of owners being racist to them and talk of “ dont know how you could be with someone like that” in regards to a mix relations couple. Being a mixed culture family on vacation we found this extremely uncomfortable. Rather than the relaxing weekend getaway we hoped for we walked into something that did not resemble this. We ended up checking out early. We will not return

I reviewed Camellia Court last year, finding it ideal for our needs and this year was no different. Great staff, parking right at the door, good-size rooms, practical and well-equipped kitchen and basically everything anyone would ever need for a few days.

Stayed in a motel unit out the back. It had large trees around it creating a peaceful ambience. There was a very friendly cat (Boogie) that the kids loved. They also loved the private playground right outside the door. The hosts were wonderful, and the location was close to everything great that Taupo has to offer.

What can I say, it was a poor start! Went to use our room toilet and couldn’t get the bloody toilet paper out of the dispenser, lucky someone had left half used toilet roll on window ceil. Went to have a shower and didn’t know you had to turn on a switch to make the hot water work. Signs everywhere in the room telling us that you will be charged if you don’t wash your dishes or make the bed. Linen was dirty, even had bogaz in the sheet when I opened my bed. Tv channels were crap! One channel was loud another was quite, like the decoder was turned down. Kids bed had a huge urine stain on it!. Not a nice stay! Everything was worn out! Even the spare blankets had hair and bits of scrub on them. Blankets were old and outdated. Just really unclean
