Had an amazing few days away in Taupo at Rive Gauche, a very peaceful b&b in a beautiful setting which made for a relaxing stay. The garden room with self catering facilities was very clean and stylish with lovely views of the vineyard. Lynne and Jim are very welcoming hosts and look after guests really well. Central Taupo is a short drive away as are Huka Falls or you can do a lovely walk to the falls from the property. This is our second stay here and we will definitely return when we holiday in Taupo again.

Thanks for your lovely review, Carol. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay, and could comme back a second time to make the most of what our area has to offer. At the moment we are readying for our wine harvest. The nets are on, and it only remains to set the date and find some local pickers. Take care and keep well in these unusual omicron times.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. Stylish accommodation in a beautiful setting, and the most perfect of hosts. Lynne and Jim run a small vineyard on the property. Reminded us of holidays in France. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended !

This is a lovely and peaceful b&b in a secluded spot near Huka Falls. We were welcomed with afternoon tea to this stylish purpose built lodge. Jim and Lynne are extremely well travelled hosts, so know how to make their guests very welcome. Decor is smart and the rooms are well fitted out. Breakfast was good, and overall this b&b was exactly what you hope for when you make a booking.

Thanks for very much for your review, Katie. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us as much as we did hosting you. It has been a pleasure in recent times meeting Kiwis like yourselves. B&B guests at Rive Gauche get to partake of more of our hospitality, but self-contained accommodation is available in our studio for guests who prefer to be more independent, particularly in these uncertain times. Keep well. Best regards L & J.

Lynne and Jim are the most welcoming of hosts. Their property, complete with its own vineyard in the back yard, is an architectural wonder that combines a very comfortable, modern design with ample touches of rural France, their second home. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and the place is absolutely spotless. A very highly recommend!

Thank you for your generous comments about our property. It was such a pleasure to meet your both and to be able to reminisce about the wonderful times we have spent in Europe. Since Covid, however, we have enjoyed meeting a cross section of the NZ population, including residents and recent arrivals. We do miss hosting our European guests, who previously made up a large part of our market, so thanks again for finding us and writing your review.

Lynne & Jim are charming, relaxed and welcoming hosts. On arrival we were lucky enough to be offered a chilled glass of their 2015 Pinot Gris (Rive Gauche) vintage from the vines in their garden. A delicious start to our stay. Our room was spacious and quiet with a lovely view over the vineyard. With blackout blinds and a large comfortable bed a good night’s sleep was had, ready for the sights and delights of Lake Taupo the next morning. A gentle stroll through their back garden to the Redwood forest and a path to the Huka Falls is a must. Highly recommended.

We were fortunate to be able to host you both, and pleased you enjoyed the quiet, relaxing environment we provide at Rive Gauche. We are always to happy to offer a glass of Rive Gauche pinot gris to our guests, the vineyard being such an integral part of our property. Non wine drinkers are of course offered other options. We enjoy promoting our local region and sharing travel information with our guests. Thanks for booking direct - we always appreciate it when guests take the time to do that. Best wishes from us both.
