We had a delightful six week stay at Lake Edge, a serviced time share at Taupo NZ. The well appointed self catering accommodation on two floors boasts two good sized bedrooms and three bathrooms. Sleeping available for six.
There is a balcony to the master bedroom and another to the living room. The later leading down to Lake Taupo and a safe beach, the swimming pool, an indoor and an outdoor spa, sauna, library and games room. Other activities are available.

Perfect location and winter sunshine for walking along the lakefront. We were able to invite family to stay and also found the unit very well resourced for cooking our meals which meant evenings relaxing in the unit. The underfloor heating was a welcome bonus in the winter!!

We booked this using our timeshare swap and were not disappointed. Truely a wonderful location with views out over the lake and so close to the lake. They are located on the edge of the walkway and it’s a great place for starting your bike ride. The units are well furnished - we were in unit 1 and it had 3 full bathrooms- one quite small - but great for two couples. Everything you need is there. Under floor heating in the bathroom was fabulous. Great pool and spa area. Would definitely love to stay again.

Extremely well situated timeshare with very good amenities - outdoor heated pool, outdoor and indoor spa pools plus sauna. First class private accommodation, which easily caters for up to six people. Fantastic views over Lake Taupo.

Lovely uninterrupted views over the lake and over to the city centre. Well positioned to all local attractions. Visited in the middle of winter and the accomodation was toasty warm with underfloor heating. Clean and exceptionally well kept gardens.

Great location with well appointed rooms and facilities. Cleanliness was first class making for a very nice stay. The walkway in front of the resort is an added bonus for getting that exercise with pristine views. So much to do in the area.

The newly refurbished 12 apartment Lake Edge Resort Taupo is definitely worth a stay. The mediterranean styled 2 bedroom 3 bathroom units sleep 7, and include full kitchen & laundry facilities, with a BBQ & patio furniture on the lower deck. The units are spacious, beautifully furnished & nearly all have close lake views.

The outdoor heated pool with garden landscaping is a focal point with shallow areas for younger children & an adjacent heated outdoor spa pool. A second spa (indoors, heated to a delicious 38 degrees), sauna, games room & guest lounge are located right near the pool area, & guests have use of the tennis courts opposite the resort. The resort’s kayaks were a great family activity with lots of beaches to explore along the lake edge, as well as several hot water inlets where people sat or paddled, enjoying the warm water. The good quality resort bikes can be ridden along the paved flat path around the lake edge which leads you into the Taupo township 3 ½ km away, or go for an evening walk & enjoy the spectacular sunset.

Prior to renovation the resort had become quite run down but this has all changed with the recent renovation & a general consensus that in recent times it has become more family friendly. Note: All units renovated except Unit 14 which is due to be renovated this year.

We stayed here in January of 2013 and absolutely, one hundred percent LOVED IT (and so did the kids!). The resort had bikes and kayaks that we could use and did use daily! The bikes and the kayaks are both very well maintained. The resort also has two spas, one was outdoors and the other was an indoor private spa. The one indoors could fit a maximum of six adults. The outdoor spa is designed for two adults but we managed to squeeze in the kids! The games room was another one of the highlights especially if your staying here in the winter months! We found that everything in the games room was very well kept and played almost all of the games. The games that were in the games room are: pool, magnetic darts, table-tennis, ice hockey and fuss-ball. All of these games were a lot of fun to play during our family's evening competition. They also had a board games cupboard which we didn't use. The pool was a decent size for us, the only thing that I noticed was how there was always some yucky things at the bottom of the pool. That was a bit off-putting but it was still nice for a little dip. We stayed in apartment 8 and managed to sleep 6 people comfortably there was a bedroom with three single beds in it, and the master bedroom had a queen bed and lastly down stairs there was a fold out couch that turned into a queen sized
bed. There were three toilets (one ensuite) three showers and one bath. The apartment was stocked up with everything you need including lots of glassware. The only thing that the apartment lacked was cleaning products. Another great thing about the apartments here is that all apartments are equipped with their OWN barbecue which is where we made most of our meals.
The resort has a Monday night social get together with drinks and nibbles.

Overall this resort has been an amazing place to stay and is definitely for families! We loved it here I hope you do as well!

This timeshare resort is in our view the best in New Zealand for beautiful lake views, the resort amenities, the spacious apartment with 3 bathrooms/showers, private BBQ on the deck. The swimming pool is amazing with spa overlooking the lake. It was a real treat to stay here & felt like paradise with the views and pool layout. There are lovely walks from the resort & we walked into town most days which was a leisurely stroll and took about 3/4 hour. There is a nice sailing club up the road 5 minutes walk to enjoy a meal or drink overlooking the lake or plenty of others in the vicinity. The resort is friendly & welcoming and of high standard. We have been trying to get into this resort for years due to high demand and it certainly lived up to all the reviews we have heard.

We had a week here in a very luxurious timeshare resort - such quality fixtures & fittings and crockery, glassware etc. The view over the lake was an extra bonus with our own private balcony area with bbq. A great position to head off to do all your sightseeing whether it be to Rotorua or to the magnificent Bayview Chateau. Lake Taupo was nice but definitely no Queenstown.
