We arrived Saturday afternoon for two nights with two couples of dear friends. Our king bed rooms were comfortable and everything we need for preparing breakfast. As no contact because of lockdown restrictions fresh towels and roll of loo roll left conveniently at our door. Motel conveniently located for lovely pub and stroll to lake. Takeaway options so many to choose who will deliver to motel.
When we got to this motel it had a sign up to chekin next door - that wasnt a problem. The girl I spoke to was nice and friendly. Got to our 1 bedroom unit - right next to the laundry - that didnt bother us either, upon opening the door the rest did bother us! The place was spacious enough but the lounge was sagging in the middle, it was a salmon pink colour which looked dirty. The kitchen had the basics but it was so out of date - that the cupboards didnt close properly. To be honest I opened one and was scared something may come out of it. The bedroom was ok - open the curtains and out the window was the back yard I assume but it was a bit of a junk yard - nothing nice to look at. Bed was a king and it wasnt too bad as comfort goes. Could do with more power points due to the technology people use these days. Bathroom - old - no door on the toilet door but you could close the bathroom door. Shower was small but poweful with the curtain sticking to you all the time. Vanity had plenty of space for your personal things. Good location and parking outside of unit. I wish I could be more positive but if you say the price is good at $136.60 p/n well I don't think so. We had been travelling around NZ and paid similar prices for better accommodation. When I Iooked and booked on the website all the rooms looked like they had been updated and rather nice - perhaps we were unlucky and they hadnt got to this room as yet.…
Booked and stayed here. Reception is next door, but not inconvenient at all. The lady was really helpful as I had mistakenly book the week after. Nothing was too much trouble and I was given a room. Room was a studio but perfect for my needs, it was clean tidy, had a double bed, massive bathroom with a jacuzzi bath. Kitchen had a microwave fridge and all the bits and pieces I needed to get by. Town was 12 minutes at a leisurely pace, the lake was only 2 minutes. It was a quiet location and easy to find. It isn't the Ritz, but I would stay here again with no issues. Thank you
The location is great for town and is an easy walk to quite a few restaurants and cafes as well as the lake itself! The room itself is very small and although kettle, toaster and fridge are provided you wouldn’t do more than coffee or toast here as it would be too cramped. There’s outside seating but facing the car park. So, a clean and comfortable base for town.
Never have I been so disgusted as I have by the treatment of the general manager at the Courtney motel. We arrived and checked in and asked to use the laundry and the attitude I received was disgusting. She was rude and confrontational with no reason whatsoever and denied use even though it was more than an hour before it closed. The owners need to take a look at her behaviour towards guests.
