We had the opportunity to stay at Acacia Cliffs Lodge for one night as part of our Honeymoon and it was an unprecedented experience. Neil and Stephanie have created a small slice of heaven in Taupo and we feel so honored we were able to enjoy it.
All of the rooms are immaculate and the entire house has windows floor to ceiling so you can really appreciate the views of Lake Taupo. It's clear that Neil and Stephanie thought about every little detail without sacrificing the incredibly intimate feel of the house and experience.
To be able to meet other guests over drinks or breakfast was such a unique experience and we thoroughly enjoyed that aspect. Moreover you HAVE to stay one night for dinner - Neil and Stephanie are such talented chefs and to have a private dinner overlooking the lake was unrivaled.

We loved our comfortable room with an exceptional view over Lake Taupo! Neil and Stephanie were attentive hosts and we enjoyed the 6 pm cocktail hour where we met other guests and shared experiences. The breakfasts and dinner were delicious and a great location to explore the surrounding area.

This Inn is absolutely stunning the innkeepers were fabulous hosts with a lovely breakfast and also a social hour with wine samplings and delicious appetizers. The room was immaculate and the views from the living room took my breath away of the lake and the lovely sheep on property. The Lodge offers dining prepared by the hosts and the guests we met said it was the best meal in all of New Zealand I will have to return and make certain to try the sampling. This area is picturesque with the lake a short drive. I definitely recommend.

We have just left Acacia Cliffs Lodge & can’t wait to return later in the week. The lodge is perfectly positioned high on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Acacia Bay, Lake Taupo, only a 15 minute drive from Taupo, but away from streets full of motels, pretend lodges & tourists. We drove up a lovely winding driveway amongst established trees & arrived at Acacia Cliffs Lodge where we were greeted by Stephanie, who is the most gracious host, along with her husband Neal. Our room was a generous size with a balcony that overlooks the lake & the only sound we could hear was that of Tuis & other lovely little NZ birds in the surrounding bush. The peace here is all-enveloping. The bed was so comfortable & the bathroom was perfect with excellent amenities & products. Besides owning the property, Neal is the chef & cooked the most delicious breakfast. They also do dinners so if you are going to stay there be sure to pre-book. This is now our favourite hotel to stay in when in Taupo.

We had the best stay being hosted by Stephanie and Neil. A very warm welcome into a beautiful home, the views are incredible! The whole accommodation was super clean and so comfortable. Lovely bedroom with en-suite which has a massive shower and bath.
The breakfasts are cooked fresh by order each day and are super tasty. We also had dinner one night which was fantastic.
Each evening they welcome you to join for wine and beautiful canapés whilst enjoying the view.
100% would recommend staying here to anyone.

Wonderful stay at Acacia Cliffs Lodge, huge comfortable room with fabulous bathroom and lovely private courtyard. We so enjoyed the position of the lodge, with stunning views over Lake Taupo, and loved meeting and interacting with the other guests and with Neil and Stephanie, who are great hosts. Dining at the lodge one evening with the other guests, the delicious meal expertly cooked by Neil and Stephanie, was excellent. Would 100% recommend Acacia Cliffs Lodge, especially if you like meeting and socialising with other guests.

We had an excellent stay at Acacia Cliffs. A beautiful room with views over the lake. Our hosts were very friendly and joined us for drinks and canapés with other guests early evening. Delicious breakfast and evening meal too. A perfect stay - thank you Neil and Stephanie.

We spent three nights at Acacia Cliffs Lodge in a beautiful room with a stunning view over the lake. The room offered all expected amenities and complementary wine and snacks. Our hosts were very attentive to our needs and gave us advice about the Taupo region and the places to have dinner… etc. We also had dinner one evening at the lodge and that was great food and wine. In short, our stay was very pleasant and we can highly recommend Acacia Cliffs Lodge.

Absolutely lovely place with fantastic views. Staff were amazing and it was very social as they offer drinks and canapés at around 6pm where everyone gets chatting about their trips. The only downside is that the lodge is a long way from town so you either need to drive or eat at the hotel. If you want to eat at the hotel you need to let them know in advance of your stay.

Stayed for two during tour of N Island. This beautiful lodge offers boutique accommodation. Our room had fabulous views overlooking Lake Taupo. I was extremely comfortable with good seating as well as a nice large sumptuous double bed and a large private deck area. There was also a spacious bathroom with a his & hers single wash basin (yes - single long basin with two set of taps. Never seen one like it). There was good real coffee and tea making facilities with a small fridge stocked with a couple of bottles of beer and a bottle of own branded NZ Sauvignon Blanc - all complimentary. Residents had the use of an enormous sitting room with full height windows together with a communal sun deck overlooking the lake. Our hosts were Neil and Stephanie who worked so hard to ensure that all the guests were looked after. They had only taken over the premises 5 weeks before we stayed, but had the place working very smoothly. That had also continued the house tradition of serving complimentary wine and canapés at 6pm when guests could get together and have a lively pre-dinner social exchange. Neil and Stephanie also participated giving us the benefit of their extensive knowledge of New Zealand. This, of course, included knowledge of local restaurants, tourist attractions etc. Breakfast was equally magnificent with a full spread of cereals, fruits etc and a full cooked option menu. As someone who has travelled extensively to all corners of the world as part of his working life, it rarely that you come across such fantastic and luxurious accommodation run by such charming and interesting hosts.
