We stayed for two nights in a king one bed room with spa bath. Bliss. The room was a good size, with small kitchen area and large bathroom, with separate shower and spa bath, and a good sized living area and bedroom. Underfloor heating in winter. There was a small problem with the air condtion unit being a bit noisy, but it was fixed very promptly when we mentioned it. Great service and good advice, complete with map, when we asked about swimming spots. Close to the lake front, shops and restaurants and harbour.

Over the years I've stayed in many motels, some good some not so good, Asure Prince Motor Lodge is one of the best and why I only stay here now when I'm in Taupo. Ron and his team always make me feel welcome then either he or Rachel will show me to my unit, which is always clean and in winter warm from the underfloor heating. Of equal importance the bed and furnishings are very comfortable.

Great unit for the family, just ask for room configuration to suit, its likely they can arrange it. It was clean, tidy, quiet with good parking. Teens had sky tv and fast internet in their bedroom as did we in the lounge. Owers and their cleaning staff were attentive to our needs and they were all very friendly. We will definitely stay again!!

It is great to know you were all ou were all comfortable for your stay with us, and that our 50" TV's with 50+ SKY helped with that - and the team really appreciate your acknowledging how attentive and friendly they were. We are very disappointed with the owner of this business and his business practices, this motel was changed from booking .com as per the owner to go with the business themselves . He suggested that we cancel booking.,com and he would give me a cheaper deal. However there was a mislap and we forgot that we had made the booking that way . August to December.,

When i spoke to the man i said we were sorry and he suggested that we look at coming up to Taupo anyway i said i was not sure . Otherwise he suggested that we will see what happens to the room

When i rang him back that night to discuss , he said he was busy and that he would get back to me .He closed at 8.30pm and gave the booking to someone else. He took our money $2800.00 7 nights for 2 units and then booked the units out to some one else . at the same price which we question the tarrif .

We trusted him and allowed the payment to go through in good faith , trusting that he would give some of the money for the units . We intended to give him compensstaion however he took the whole lot.

Hence his intergrity and honesty is to be questioned.

Hi Mary Rose, as you well know this is a misleading and dishonest review. Yes, when in early September you booked a week with us after Xmas, we called you to suggest that our Budget Alleyway units may not be a good choice for that stay. You agreed, and we offered to upgrade you at a cost, you did not want to pay any extra, and so we said you should cancel at no cost. You did not want that either, asking us to help you while coming across as a being a frail and elderly person who was unfamiliar with the web, and of limited means. Yes, we were sympathetic and wanted to help you and so we offered to convert this to a direct booking and to upgrade you by 3 levels to 1 Bedroom Bath units on our sunny Courtyard - at the same price. You accepted our offer and at 4.01 pm on the same day we confirmed that to you in writing, along with our cancellation Terms & Conditions. Yes, in the late afternoon of your arrival day in December, we called to see whether we needed to arrange an after-hours check-in for you as we do close the office. That is when we were told that you were not coming at all as you had cancelled the booking with us. We apologised and went off to check, but found the booking had not been cancelled. We charged your card as per the T&C’s you had accepted – and emailed you saying that along with a copy of our September email confirmation. You called back asking us to please help you recover some of those monies Yes, again we were sympathetic to your situation, and wrote saying so but clearly pointing out we were under no obligation, but would review the situation after 4 January. Promptly on 4 January you wrote asking how much your refund was going to be. we remining you we were under no obligation, were very busy being January and would get back to you shortly. Then more and more emails came, and we discovered you were a Senior Manager and your husband the Managing Director of a multi-million-dollar Wellington company with over 60 employees. - people regularly managing agreements, and conducting business over the web. We then wrote saying that after consideration our T&C’s should stand. You responded by saying your husband was putting your Lawyers on to the matter, and we stopped communicating while we waited for their letter. That letter never arrived – instead you have posted this completely dishonest and misleading review. Where is the integrity in that?

Ron was so welcoming and went out of his way to provide outstanding customer service, from the time of booking to the end of our stay.
Perfect location to walk to the lake (2 mins), town (2 mins), restaurants and bars but also quiet (sound proof rooms) even at Easter when it was totally booked out.
Oh so comfortable beds, fab spa bath, lovely clean unit. So nice to have a towel rail for warm dry towels.
Huge tv's for kids and parents with huge range of viewings.
Secure bike storage was appreciated.
Would totally recommend for a short or long stay.

Not too hard for us to do when we now have such great people choosing to stay with us - with many becoming regulars Good to know the bike storage worked well for you, that the new 50" Smart TV's with 50+ channels were appreciated - and we thank you for sharing that for others to read. We recently had the privilege of staying at the Prince Motor Lodge .
On arrival we were warmly welcomed and we felt at home.
The room exceeded expectations in every way and I think was probably the most well equipped we have ever stayed in,it was absolutely spotlessly clean with great attention to detail.
The motel is very centrally situated with the shops, restaurants and lakefront all within easy walking distance.
We will definitely be staying again when we are next in Taupo.

The disabled-friendly room really was disabled-friendly, easy to get into, and easy to turn around. A large bathroom with a shower wet room, hand holds and seat. Large bed, very comfortable. The hotel location was great being close to a number of local attractions and within easy walking distance to the shopping and eating area. The host Ron couldn't have been more helpful.

We managed to get a room here last minute as we were passing through Taupo on our way home.
Location is perfect, you can walk to the lake, playground and into town.
We arrived to a chatty friendly greeting.

The room is a great size and easily accommodated the 4 of us.
There is a separate bedroom at the back with double bed and its own TV, which the kids quickly nabbed as their room.

So we had the 2 singles in the front, also with big TV.

TV's have full Sky, and just about every other streaming service you can think of.

Kitchen is small, but there is a fridge and hot plates so you can cater in house if not eating out.

Bathroom is great, shower and a spa bath in our room.

The room was warm, with heat pump and under floor heating taking away the winter chill.

We usually camp when we visit Taupo, but this motel will be at the top of our list any time we decide we can't be bothered with the tent..!!

Woefully inadequate (tiny) fridge ran noisily for every second of our stay. Lights in bathroom were so bright and essential for use, that night adaptation was lost and took a while to return at night. A night light system would be preferable here, instead of a single switch turning on an array of very, very bright lights, or a second switch for the mirror lights. Helpful staff.

Hi there Truly sorry that you did not raise any of this with us during your 2 night stay - as laying out your complaint in his way leaves us powerless to do anything to help you. Very frustrating when we go out of our way to be helpful - as you found earlier when you cancelled on the very day of your arrival!! Had you mentioned 4 full grown up adults at the beginning we would almost certainly have encouraged you to look for a better suited property. When you went up to 3 we jointly thought that could be OK, but then on arrival you tell us you are 4 - and that made for a tight fit. If you recall, you initially booked for just two of you and the focus was more upon your trailered motorbike and sidecar. At no point did you mention there could be 4 of you. Re the fridge, we have an on-site restaurant and most find that thet fridge is adequate - although we agree it is not well suited to act as a bar fridge for 4 adults. Generally, the ladies like our spacious and well lit bathroom - and comment positively. Clearly our units are not well suited to your own needs, and we can only close wishing you well, and hoping you find a more suitable out yourroperty Rgds, Ron

We spent 3 nights here. The room rate was very reasonable, especially as it was over the Ironman weekend.
Our hosts were very accommodating and extremely friendly.
The room was very well appointed and clean. Our suite had a separate bedroom and a single bed in the lounge which works very well especially if one guest is a snorer. Heaven !!!.
The motel is located within easy walking distance to restaurants and shops and has a Thai restaurant on site.
