Everything about our experience at the State Hotel was fantastic! Lynne the lady who manages the hotel was superb, she helped us make our booking (and sort out a booking glitch with Booking.com), she gave us a lovely room, which looked out over the main street below and she was really helpful during our stay. The hotel itself is right...

A boutique hotel experience. Rooms are tastefully decorated and very clean.Bed very comfortable. The lounge is very nice to hang out in. The whole hotel smelt very clean and fresh and the artwork was amazing. Centrally located.Parking is limited , but we did get a park. Rooms are quite small. Thought it might be noisy due to location but was...

There was a small hic up with our room on our arrival which was smoothly and efficiently dealt with. Our newly assigned room was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean.Being right in the middle of New Plymouth meant we could park the car in the free parking behind the hotel and walk everywhere. We had a great stay not long enough...

This property delivers on its marketing. The Hotel position, room design and property's wonderful art and outstanding decor was a genuine surprise and one we were totally delighted with. New Plymouth is gaining a reputation as a place to visit and I would recommend this hotel. It's equal to or better than many properties we've stayed in around the world...

We stayed for the second time at this hotel in central New Plymouth. As an Interior Designer myself I could totally appreciate all the thought that went into creating a beautiful place to stay with such a lot of ambiance and attention to detail. It has the feel good factor and the room was very clean and well maintained. It...

Right from the entrance, The State Hotel oozes electric charm and you want to explore further. Rarely have I delighted in the interior of an accommodation but The State Hotel has character in its mix of furnishings, ornaments and wall paintings. Our room was clean and looked as though everything has been recently renovated to a very high standard. The bathroom...

We stayed here on New Year's Eve - once we parked the car we did not have to drive again until we checked out. We walked some of the Coastal Walkway in the afternoon, it was great to stretch our legs after being in the car for a most of the day. Had dinner and spent a most enjoyable night...

The hotel is located above the Joe's Garage eatery and very centrally located on Devon St. Easy access to shops, restaurants and cafés. It has been very tastefully decorated with interesting ornaments and paintings. It has a nice Guest Lounge. The rooms are not big but well appointed, with good use of the available space. The sandblasted-glass door to the...

We enjoyed our two night stay in the State Hotel and would definitely recommend it as a place to stay. The hotel is conveniently located in central New Plymouth and everything is within easy walking distance. While the rooms are small, they are clean and comfortable, well appointed and modern. The hotel itself is old and full of character. Comments- if...
