This was a repeat visit to Hosking House, but my first visit home since March 2020. Rachel and Rod made it really extraordinary; they welcomed my siblings as visitors and we had a rousing evening of cards in the front room, and pizza up in the breakfast room. They even invited me to have one of my brothers come for (the delicious!) breakfast one morning. It was seriously like having a home away from home. I hope to have many return visits in the coming months and years.
We planned a trip New Plymouth to celebrate our wedding anniversary and chose to stay at Hosking House. This was our third stay and we were delighted to catch up with Rachel. She is a fabulous host and nothing is too much trouble. The suites are gorgeous and luxurious. The bed was super comfy. Breakfast was delicious as always. We totally recommend Hosking House as a place to relax and unwind in luxury.
We spent 6 nights in Hosking House and would have loved to have spent longer. Rachel is a great hostess providing us with lots of information about what to do and where to go in NP. She made restaurant bookings for us and was spot on with her choices. If this is your first visit to New Plymouth this is such a good place to stay and within walking distance of the city and waterfront as well as lovely walks along well signposted walkways. The accomodation is so good with comfortable bed and a generous breakfast that sets you up for the whole day.
I had a great one night get away. It was quiet, relaxing and being able to have a bath was an added bonus. The breakfast the next morning was incredible, so much yummy food!! Didn't need to eat again until dinner! The room and common areas were exceptionally clean and tidy. Would 100% recommend
Loved my stay at Hosking House. Rachel was an amazing host - She directed me to great restaurants and knew all the current events on. The rooms are spacious and renovated to a high standard. Brekkie was delicious - smoked salmon, poached eggs and home made zucchini fritters from the garden - just perfect! Would definitely come back again. If you're a couple, fyi, the room I was in didn't have a door to the ensuite. It still had privacy, but might be a thing for some guests. 10 mins walk into town. Across the road from Pukekura park. Quiet and so comfortable!
