What a beautifully presented place to stay. The owner is so helpful, friendly and welcoming and the room was beautifully presented with its own kitchen. It was so cozy and warm. Location was really good too for walkers who like to explore walks. Very handy to the coastal walkway. And for Mac Donald's fans, it's right across the road. Highly recommend the Amber Court Motel.

We took 15 Triumph Stag cars and their owners for a weekend in Taranaki, and stayed at Amber Court. the motelier, Raewyn, was very accommodating, helpful, and negotiated a deal for the number of rooms. She was very helpful, and I would have no problem with staying there again. Very convenient to downtown, shopping, restaurants, and has easy access.

Greeted and checked in the receptionist. She was lovely. The room is a little worn and furnishings are dated but still clean. If you're wanting something ultra modern then this isn't for you. Was good enough for us, my family was just passing through for the night. Kids slept well, adults not so much. Kids enjoyed the indoor pool. It's not heated but was clean. The spa is right next to the pool so we could watch the kids and be in the spa at the same time. Pool gets booked at reception for an hour at a time which was nice because we got to have it to ourselves. The folder had some good local info, we wouldn't have known about the different entry points to Mt Taranaki otherwise. Central location, lots of restaurants, petrol station, supermarket etc.

We stayed here for 2 nights for 2 adults and 3kids. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit. The unit was pretty basic but had everything you could need. Parking was provided outside unit. Kitchen was a good space with bits you need. The unit and rooms got very hot there were 3 fans but did not help too much. Our 7 month did throw up abit over her cot sheets and they were not replaced but we made do.

Amber Court was a great place to stay! The rooms were clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out a breeze. The location was convenient, with easy access to local attractions. The only small downside was the noise from the street, but it didn't impact our stay too much. Overall, a very good experience, and we would happily return!

Positives - Everything. From the massive room, the pool, the location all the way to the amount of pillows! But most of all the lady at reception, very nice, positive and service with a big smile. I wish I got her name so I could give a shout out to her! Please respond!
As I have mentioned in most of my reviews, my father is a hard man to please but he loved this place and gives all praise! He said it was the best stay!
Negatives - All the bad comments from people who are expecting to stay at the Ritz.
Highly give this place a 5 out of 5. Im even going to book with the lads soon.

Had a great time and Isabell who was managing the motel was very helpful with local knowledge. Great location. The room was very spacious and cosy. The art gallery is well worth visiting and in addition to the Len lye exhibition there was also another great exhibition by Candice Lin. The staff very friendly and informative.

Really liked staying here. Nice and conveniently located and very helpful staff. They helped me after my stay too, to look for something I left behind. Room was nice and spacious too. Would definitely go back there.

Between May 7th to the 21st, my wife and I did a fly-drive holiday around the North island of N.Z. Of the 6 ( 4 star plus properties ) we stayed in on this trip. we rated the Amber Court Motel In New Plymouth by far the most superior by a long shot. The quality of the accommodation, location ( within easy walking distance to the city's main street, restaurants, take-away food outlets,supermarkets, banks, etc.) cleanliness,service and food quality were of an extremely high standard. The covered in heated swimming pool was a very pleasant surprise and an added bonus. My wife and I most certainly have no hesitation in recommending our friends or anyone to stay at this property when visiting New Plymouth.

We (4 mates) have stayed here for a week in January for the last 4 years (Bowls Taranaki open mens fours) and will be staying again in January 2009. There are a few teams that stay at this time and they too come back each year. We book a 2 bedroom apartment, its all self cater. The place has a great atmosphere about it and the rooms are clean and serviced every day. Easy walk to the centre of town or a short cheap taxi ride. The staff are great, can’t do enough to help out. Highly recomend Amber Court.
