Stayed here one night when passing through New Plymouth with my 7yo and couldn’t fault it. The host was super friendly providing extra info on visiting the Festival of Lights (which was also brilliant). The room was clean, spacious, and the bed was really comfy. Highly recommend!

Friendly welcoming staff, a great place to stay for a weekend away. Rooms are very comfortable we stayed in a two bedroom unit, if you are staying during winter request the switch on your rooms heat pump to warm up your room 30min before you arrive. Central to everything and just down the road from Boy High also across the road from the race course. Highly recommended.

We booked a room at the Pukekura Motor Lodge on spec when we needed to stay overnight last week and we are so very glad we did. We had a first floor superior studio and paid a vey good rate by booking direct with the motel rather than via a booking agency. The room was spotlessly clean and very tidy. It had all the facilities you need when self catering and all the fixtures and fittings were new and of very good quality. The large bed was very comfy. The bathroom was well equiped with toiletries and had a bath as well as a fantastic shower. Whilst the motel is not in the town centre, it is within a couple of minutes drive and there is plenty of parking. Would not hesitate to recommend this motel and we are looking forward to staying here when we next visit New Plymouth.

We were in New Plymouth for a wedding but wanted to check out the Light Show. Pukekura Motor Lodge was the perfect location to launch us into all our activities. We had a friendly, helpful welcome and assistance to get extra parking for an additional family car. The motel is quiet, well equipped and pleasantly large.

The location is ideal as we are close to the fountain of light show. The room was very nicely decorated and modern as well. Found it strange the power for the lights etc was by the sliding window and not the door you enter the room in. So if you come in at night you have to stumble across the room to put the key in to activate the power to the lights etc. Other than that it was a good stay.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes unfortunately 3 of our units have the lights by the sliding door and not the back door. I'm sorry i should have let you know to enter through the sliding door.

We were visiting family in New Plymouth and decided on Pukekura due to the location, not expecting much from the motel: what a lovely surprise. We had a spacious 2 bedroom unit: beautifully finished bathroom and kitchen. Had a lovely warm welcome. Being away from home the kids have started missing the pets and the resident cats endured the cat-lovers in the family’s adoration . The rest of us appreciated the humans’ friendly helpfulness. Great value for money and close to the centre of town and park.
