If your are planning a trip to Rotorua do book this motel for your stay. Situated right in the middle of all the tourist hubs. We had a very pleasant stay for our new years trip. Very spacious rooms with ultra comfortable beds, clean surroundings and they even provide utensils in the kitchen if you are planning to cook your own food. Another plus point is they have 3 different free pools for you to use, a sulphur hot bath pool, a spa pool and one swimming pool. We couldn't have started our year better. A big thumbs up and thank you for your great hospitality. We'll be back.

The Manager is a very helpful and kind man. This made our trip very pleasurable, thank you. The pools are great, just what we wanted 3 adults and 4 children. Being winter is was very lucky. The 2 bedroom unit is very dated and some would say the bathroom toilets need relining. For us we loved the space for us all. The location is so handy to the park at the lake.

Perfect location within easy walking distance of all that central Rotorua has to offer - restaurants, cafe (very good one’s close by - shopping, visitors centre, gardens and bay. Free parking onsite and on street.
There will be continuous construction locally as new spa and shops are built so could be noisy.
Service and welcome are excellent - sadly this does not match the building and rooms which are tired and need updated. No aircon, lack of power points and no bedside or table lamps just stark ceiling lights.

Our unit was very much overdue for a refresh. Blinds were damaged and repaired with duct tape, fly pooh on door and window frames (considering the dust as well, had been there a while), greasy marks running down the walls and stained bedding. We attempted to discuss with reception but the door was locked so despite paying for 3 nghts, we left after 2 hours.

I had no confidence in their ability to provide anything better, if they thought it was okay to rent this unit out in the condition it was in.

I think we booked the last available room in Rotorua (that was not going to cost an arm and a leg) on the school holiday weekend and we were delighted with the complex. Friendly check in, spotlessly clean unit, well appointed little kitchen, and family friendly. A super find. So central to downtown also. Park and walk.

This was a great motel, central to Eat Street, Sulphur Point walkway, town centre and iSite. Good facilities and very nice owners. There was a problem with our card when they tried to process payment in advance of our arrival and they were not able to contact us initially. They could have cancelled our booking and resold it to another couple at the full rate, but they agreed to hold it for us until we arrived. Thanks Ambassador for a great stay and friendly service.

Walking distance to Eat Street and the downtown area, a few minutes walk to the lake and to the Government Gardens.
The Ambassador Thermal Motel is an older motel, but it is very comfortable and clean. The owners are friendly and ready to help if needed. the other staff were also very friendly.
The thermal pool is great after a day out. It is small, and in a little pool room with very little apart from a place to put your towel -which is provided by the way. But it is hot and very relaxing.
The spa pool is set in a small area with some plantings and a ponga fence which enhances it. When the thermal pool was busy, this was a nice alternative.
the motel room is well appointed and you can cook there-everything you need. The bed is comfy.
There is an outside pool for summer. Parking on site.

Clean and spacious rooms. Would be better if they had a lift though if you are on the top floor.

10 minute walk from information centre bus stop.

Friendly reception, gave us some milk for free upon check in. Stored our luggage after check out for a few hours which was extremely handy.

The outside of the windows were extremely dirty, so we did not want to open the windows. We had 5 spiders in our room when checking in. Plus the outside smells strongly of Sulphur from the pool downstairs.

Staff here are lovely. Basics are all there and the thermal experience very therapeutic. Access to lakefront beyond convenient. Close to information centre. Very child friendly and relaxed. Almost an old fashioned time machine to the tune of comforts of childhood without the burdens of sophistication. Loved it.

It means you get an initial byte of Wi-Fi then you purchase any extra you need once you've used up whatever you start with. It should indicate level of Wi-Fi (actually built into tariff) when stating how much is 'free'.

Fan but no A/C... thankfully we were on the 2nd floor so we slept with the balcony door open.
