Centrally located, not expensive. Room and en suite bathroom were clean. The bed was also comfortable and the linen clean. No complaints for the price I paid.

Their website says ‘luxury accommodation’ – DON’T BE FOOLED! We had booked three rooms for three nights, and made sure we left early. All the rooms were disgusting; filthy, damp, mouldy walls and ceiling, carpet falling apart, water leaking from somewhere onto the floors, windows didn’t open (jammed shut with the moss). Fridges and jugs didn’t work. Stayed in many forms of accommodation over the years, this is by far the worst ever. Don’t stop, keep driving – staying in a bus shelter would be more comfortable.

Our room was absolutely filthy - the kitchen floor was sticky, the kitchen cupboards were sticky and smeared and inside they were dirty and smelt awful as in dirty fatty dishes had been put back in them, the kitchen sink was green and mossy/mouldy as was the entire bathtub. The carpets were faded and worn with holes in them, the blankets on the beds were all mismatched and horrible i.e. mink fur etc. Dirty sheets were left tossed in the bedroom wardrobe in a messy pile.... Would absolutely never go back and seriously question the hygiene standards of this accommodation.

Have stayed at Kiwi International Villas several times previously with no problems. Now under new Asian ownership and it appears that their interest is now only in Asian tour groups. We booked in October and arrived in January to find that a bus tour had taken our booking. We arrived 7pm just after another couple who had the same experience. They had actually rung the previous week to confirm their booking and were assured that all was well but on arrival found no booking existed. We were both left to find accomodation Saturday night 20th January when accomodation was in great demand because of the Rugby and A1GP and we both ended up paying $160 at a hotel (twice what we had budgetted on) because all motels were booked out. Despite our protestations there was no compensation forthcoming. It seems that even confirming a booking with this crowd does not guarantee a bed. I intend taking this matter further.
