We are currently touring New Zealand and this was a our first stop. We checked out lots of motels in the area and this was the best price by 20 dollars a night or so, however it is worth haggling! The room was a little tired but perfectly clean, it had central heating and it was very comfortable. We are 2 adults and 1 child (slept on converted couch) and had no problems. The smell of the sulphur is all around the town but this didn't hamper our stay.

Stayed here for 4 nights but wouldn't do any more. Rooms were dated and our oven didn't work so had to use just the hob! Free wireless internet is a bonus and price was decent. Didn't use the spa. Room was quite big and shower was decent. Good location as was opposite supermarket and 5 minute walk to town. Could probably find somewhere better for the same price though!

as they say you get what you pay for but this place is clean and warm. You could smell the freshness in the linen and bedding. Big fluffy towels and the mineral pool is to die for. we had a ground floor unit for 3 of us and it had everything we could need. there is under floor heating which kept the place toasty warm. queen bed in lounge area and 2 single beds in bedroom. will definitely stay here again.

Think about all those terrible motels you have seen in American Movies. That sums up this dreadful place. Scruffy in the extreme. All the kitchen equipment looks as though they were seconhand. The zinc shower room floor had a nice bounce to it. Don't expect more than a tiny bar of soap. No other toiletries provided. The TV was newish but bolted flat to the wall. Don't try and watch it in bed. I'm not sure if the owners have given up or simply don't care a hoot. Don't waste your money staying here there are many better motels in Rotorua for the same or cheaper price. I wish I'd checked trip advisor before booking! 95 out of 95 places. Perhaps it is the owners ambition to keep it in bottom place. Avoid at all costs

We booked into Pineland as were let down by another booking, if we knew what we were in for we would of just travelled back home. Very dated furnishings, many things in room were not operational. Many basic items missing, such as tin opener, plates to name just a few.We left after one night instead of the three we paid for. We were refunded partly, but the owners had a major slapping and screaming match between what to refund us, very unprofessional and embarrassing . We left office and screaming match continued between the couple, very glad we didn't have children with us. They should not be open to the public under any circumstances.

From the moment we paid out money, it turned to custard.
We paid in cash, then were asked to give a bond. We said NO.
No elements in the oven. only one hot plate was working.
lights missing.
When we spoke to the owners about the oven, as we wanted to cook tea.
My husband was told, QUOTE... "I don't give a s**t, get something else for tea".

Went down the road to Silver Oaks Heritage the next night, SAME price, wonderful place.
Would highly recommend.

We drove around to lots of motels to try and get the best place for the price and found this one. The lady was lovely who owns the property and offered loads of advice about good places to visit. She knew a lot the Waitamo caves and which Mairo village was best to go to.

The accomodation was very big with a seperate bedroom to the lounge and kitchen. It was all very dated but was excepionally clean. There was also two spa pools you could use but as with everywhere in Rotorua is spells of sulphur, which you get used to after a while!

We liked this place so much we ended up staying 5 nights instead of 3.

A group of friends and I were looking for a centrally located motel in Rotorua, room for 4 that was reasonably priced and clean and comfortable just for a night. This seemed to tick the boxes until we arrived.

The hotel is close to major attractions in the Rotorua CBD, however the place is significantly dated with most furniture and decor still original from the 1970's. The bathroom and kitchen were infested with small bugs and black mould was all over the handles and taps. To charge $260 for a night for 4 people I was expecting basic accommodations, but not dirty. No powerpoints near the bed or alarm provided. Really disappointing as the front of house staff were very friendly. Some money needs to be spent on updating this facility, as the motels either side are much more modern and updated. Wifi very average, slow and the signal kept dropping out in parts of the room. At this stage avoid, much better venues on offer for short term stays in town.
